S AP ER 0- MICHAELS. The
marriage of Florence Michaels,
daughter of Mrs. Rose Michaels
of New York, and William H.
Sapero, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Abram Sapero of Calvert Ave.,
was solemnized Saturday eve-
ning. Oct. 11, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Dan Krouse of Nor-
mandy Ave. Dr. A. M. Hershman
performed the ceremony in the
presence of the immediate fam-
ilies.
Mrs: Arnold Frankel of New
York was the bride's only attend-
ant and Milton Fishman was the
best man.
Besides the bride's mother and
her matron of honor the out of
town guests included, Mrs. Vera
Mehr and Arnold Frankel of New
York; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mehr
of •Elmhurst, L. I.; Dr. and Mrs.
Henry Mehr of Union, N. J.; Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Mehr of Newark,
N.J.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Epstein
of Toledo.

UNGAR - SCHWARTZ. Satur-
day evening, Oct. 11, the Book
Cadillac Hotel was • the scene of
a beautifully appointed wedding
when Rita Leatrice Schwart rz,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Schwartz of Fullerton Ave., be-
came the -bride of Donald B. Un-
gar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
H. Ungar of Youngstown, Ohio.
Officiating at the ceremony were
Rabbi Morris Adler, Cantor Ja-
cob Sonenklar and Cantor Er-
nest Gottesman of Youngstown.
The bride wore a gown of ivory
satin fashioned princess style
with seed pearls edging the peter
pan collar and the long pointed
sleeves, and a full skirt extending
into a court train. Her fingertip
veil of illusion fell from a
.Juliet cap of satin edged with
seed pearls. She carried a spray
of white orchids.
Natalie Sims was the maid of
honor and the bridesmaids in-
cluded the bridegroom's sister,
Bernita Ungar of Youngstown,
their cousin, Joyce Ungar also
of Youngstown; Rhoda .Kaplan of
New York, and Janet Arfa.
Bertrarri Ungar...of Youngstown
served his cousin as best man
and the ushers were their cousins,
Samuel, Herbert and William
Ungar of Youngstown and Mor-
ris Kaplan of New York.
The young couple left for New
York, J-roria where they will sail
on a South American cruise. Upon
their return they will make their
home in Youngstown.

1,000 Women Guests
01 NW Sisterhood

• Approximately 1,000 women
attended the fourth annual mem-
bership party of the Sisterhood
of the Northwest Hebrew Con-
gregation Oct. 8.
Mrs. Philip Helfman, program
chairman, -introduced Mrs. Jo-
seph Markel, president, who wel-
comed the guests and gave a
resume of the Sisterhood's activi-
ties. Rabbi Jacob E. Segal ex-
tended greetings, and birthday
candles were lit by Mesdames Z.
Garber, M. Goldsmith, Jos. Mar-
kel, Jacob E. Segal and J. Zalen-
ko. The invocation was given by
Mrs. David Tchor and Mrs. Ben-
jamin Fain of Chicago spoke in
behalf of the. Women's League of
the United Synagogues of Amer-
ica. The Sisterhood choral group
sang several songs.
Mrs. Alfred Helfgott, member-
ship chairman, welcomed the-
new men hers and stated that the
Sisterhood, organized in October,
1944, with 25 women present at
the first meeting, now has a mem-
bership of over 700.
Mrs. Michael Galsky, second
vice president, was in charge of
the social hour which followed.
Mrs. Ira Kaufman, chairman
of the dramatic group, announces
that the next rehearsal for the
coming production will be held in
her home, 18701 Pennington Dr.,
Thursday, Oct. 23rd, at 8:30 p. m.

Prospective Members To

Council Program at Tea

A "Harvest Tea," sponsored by
the Career Group of the National
Council of Jewish Women, will

from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday,
Oct. 19th. -
The tea is being -held -to intro-
duce prospective members to the
fall-winter program of the Ca-
reer Group, entitled "Design for
Living," and to present an over-
all picture of National Council
contributions to the community.
Mrs. Regene Freund Cohane,
former president of the Council,
will be guest speaker. The hostes-
ses for the tea will include the
officers and board members , of
the Career Group.
This year's membership corn-,
mittee is under the direction of
Rose Goodman, chairman, with
Rose Nash, co-chairman and Ann
Rochlan, secretary.
Mrs. William Frank, Mrs. Ben-
jamin Shwayder and Mrs. Louis
B. Daniels will be patronesses
for the afternoon.

engagement of Rose Amernick,
daughter of Mrs. Hyman Amer-
nick of Griggs Ave., and the late
Mr. Arnernick, to Dr. Aubrey A.

of Santa Rosa Dr. and the late
Mr. Stahl.
Miss Amernick is a graduate of
Wayne University and her fiance
is a graduate of Wayne and the
Northern Illinois College of Op-

Temple. A caller and fiddler
