Freer immigration Policies
Urged By Fortune Magazine
NEW YORK (JTA)—The gov-
ernment and American industry
should both work toward esta-
blishing freer immigration poli-
cies, an article on world migra-
tion in the October issue of For-
tune Magazine points out.
Arnerica.n ""quotas" for admit-
ting immigrants are criticized as
being not only "too low" but bas-
ed on "emotional prejudice rather
than economic reality," and the
- immigration system is scored as
being "throttled by red tape and
bureaucratic rigidity." Only a
part of available quotas are be-
ing used at the present time, it
is stated.
While it is impossible to abolish
quotas overnight, the article

of three Palestine Jews who were
killed by the Germans after hav-
ing parachuted into Slovakia in
1944 to aid the Slovak uprising
of that year were disinterred and
removed to Prague where- they
were reburied in the British War
Heroes Cemetery. The three were
Chaviva. Reik, Jizchak ben Jakov
and Rafi Reis.
