8:30 p. m. on Sunday, Oct. 13,
in the Lecture Hall of the De-
troit Institute of Art:
The public is invited to hear
Dr. SlawSon's report of his re-
cent tour of Europe, and the con-
clusions he and members of the
special committee that toured
Jewish centers and DP camps
reached as a result of their
findings.
Former executive director of
the Jewish Welfare Federation
of Detroit, Dr. Slawson was nam-
ed to his present post in 1943.
Under his direction the Amer-
ican Jewish Committee has play-
ed a vital part in efforts to pro-
tect the civil and religious rights
of Jews -throughout the world. He
has had a ..„distinguished career
with the Jewish Bwd of Guardi-
ans in New York, the Cleveland
Jewish Federation and as a for-
mer president of the National
Conference of Jewish Social Wel-
fare.

PITTSBURGH — Resettlement
of Europe's Jewish DPs, coupled
with a broad program of recon-
struction assistance for the re-
maining JeWs on the continent,
was emphasized by Moses W.
Beckelman of New York as "the
only solution to the problems of
the Jewish survivors of Europe."
Beckelrnan, who returned to
this country from Europe last
week, is vice-chairman of the
European executive council of
the Joint Distribution Commit-
tee. He spoke at the annual meet-
ing of • the JDC's East-Central
Region here, attended by.. more

states.
