State Sisterhood
To Hold Meeting

proceedings are Jane Evans
Mrs. Lawrence Freedthan, a na-
tional director, who will attend
board meetings ex-officio; Mrs.
Samuel Danto, state vice-presi-
dent, and Mrs. Max Loewenstein,
recording secretary. Mrs. Harry
Krohn is chairman of the nomi-
nating committee.
There are some fourteen sis-
terhoods in the state, ranging in
membership from eight to 1,200
members. Temple Beth El's Sis-
terhood, whose president is Mrs.
-Maurice Klein, will be represent-
ed by a delegation composed of
Mesdames .David Cooper, Lloyd
Frankel, Lawrence Freedman,
John Hopp, Maurice Klein, Harry
Krohn, Max Loewenstein, David
M‘rx, Harry Philips, Seymour
Tilchin, Wayburn and Weiner.

One of the chief topics of dis-'
cuSsion will be the NFTS victory
Project, to build the House of
Living Judaism, a project to pro-
Vide adequate quarters for 'He-
brew Union College and its affi-
liates in New York.
-Other sisterhood projects to be
considered will be the Hebrew
Union --St Warships, Uniongrams,
Jewish literature for the blind,
child study and parent education,
extension of youth activities,
Jewish. art and ceremonials, peace
and world -relations, and inter-
faith activities.

A Simchat Torah party, spon-
sored by the Sisterhood and
Men's Club of Cong. Bnai Moshe
will take place at 8:15 p. m. Tues-
day, Oct. 7, in the social hall of
the synagogue, Dexter and Law-
rence.
Mark Miller will offer vocal
solos, accompanied -by Gabriel
Glantz. There will be community
singing and a March of Time
Film on a Palestine theme. Re-
freshments will 'be served.
Mrs. Morris Klarman, .presi-
dent of the Sisterhood and Sig-
mund. Jaulus, president of the
Men's Club, invite all Bnai Moshe
members and their families to
attend. Mrs. David Krause is
chairman and Mrs. Irving Green-
span is in charge of hostesses.
Wednesday, Oct. 29, the Sister-
hood is sponsoring an SOS pro-
gram. Mrs. Joseph Beck is chair-
man.

Chicago Leader Visits
Round Table Women

The Women's Committee of the
Detroit Round Table of Catholics,
Jews and Protestants will meet
at 1 p. m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the
home of Mrs. Alfred A. May,

a luncheon meeting Oct. 14 at
which Father Herman A. Porter,
Negro Catholic priest, will be
guest speaker.
At the Oct. .6 meeting, Mrs. A.
B. Counselbaum will be guest of'

member of 'the civic service de-
partment of the Anti-Defamation
League of Bnai Brith, a member
of the Chicago Mayor's Commis-
sion on Human Relations and sec-
retary to the Education Commit-
tee of the Council against Racial
and Religious Discrimination.

Hold Registration

The offices of the United He-
brew Schools are now open for
registration of beginners as well
as advanced pupils.
Parents are urged to register
their children without delay.
Classes are now, being organized
and, where necessary, additional
teachers are invited and new
classrooms added.
