Festival Luncheon and Annual
Meeting at 12 noon on Wednes-
day, Oct. 8, at the Hotel Statler,
are:
Mesdames Max Frank, presi-
dent; Robert J. Newman, Alex-
ander W. Sanders, Nate S. Sha-
piro, and Leonard H. Weiner,
vice-presidents; Eugene J. Arn-
feld, recording secretary; Samuel
S. Aaron, corresponding secre-
tary.

Fall Activities Oct. 8

paign drive, since the first wo-
men's drive. She was vice-chair-
man of the pre-campaign commit-
tee in the 1947 Allied Jewish
Campaign.
Mrs. Weiner, who has served
the Women's Division for two
terms as chairman of the pro-
gram committee, is a past pre-
sident of the Council of Jewish
Women, and chairman of the
operating committee of the 12th
Street Council Center. She is a
member of the board of the Jew-
ish Community Center.
Mrs. Frank has served the De-
troit Jewish community in vari-
ous capacities for a number cm
years. A past president bf tht
Detroit chapter of Hadassah, she
is a member of the board of the
Jewish Social Service Bureau
and of the Board of Governors
of the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion. Since the organization of
the Women's Division, she has
been a member of the executive
committee and was a vice -chair-
man of the Women's 1947 Allied
Jewish Campaign.
Following the business meet-
ing, a dramatic poem embody-
ing the harvest theme will be pre- .
sented by Mrs. Harry Landsman,
Mrs. Abraham Cooper and Mrs.
Royal Maas.
Rabbi Morris Adler has a spe-
cial message of importance for
the women of the division.
Mrs. Joseph H. Ehrlich is the
retiring president of the Women's
Division.
'Mrs. H. J. L. Frank is chair-
man of the committee on lun-
cheon arrangements.

The Council of the Pioneer
Women's Organization will begin
its fall activities with an installa-
tion dinner dance on Oct. 8 at
Northwood Inn.

Students Give
Intercultural Program
At Center This Tuesday

In cooperation with the Fitz-
gerald School, the Council of
Mothers' Clubs of the Jewish
Center will present an intercul-
tural program at .8 p. m. TueSday,
Oct. 7, in the Center auditorium.
The program will feature stu-
dents of the school in a dramati-
ztion . of Florence :Mary FitcWs
book, "One God," produced by
Mrs, Margaret Barnes, assisted
by Mrs.' Florence White and Iris
Flannery. Vera McEwen is. prin-
cipal of Fitzgerald.
The program grew out of the
children's study of intercultural
relations, and their reading of

Lloyd -Bindes, son of Mrs. Edna
Bindes, Sunday, Sept. 7, at Bnai
David Synagogue. Rabbi Sperka

The bride was lovely in her
white satin gown fashioned with
circular train and fitted bodice s
embellished with hand-embroid-
ered lace insertion. Her veil of
illusion, was held in plaCe by a
beaded crown. .
Mrs. Dorothy Fried, sister of
the bride, was matron-of-honor;
Phyllis Parker, maid-of-honor;
Sylvia Rosner, the bride's cou-
sin, Ann Turbow, Ida Cantor and
Bessie Bindes, bridesmaids, and
Marilyn Rosner, junior . brides-
maid. -
Robert Stoller was his cousin's
best man; George Fried, Sanford
Herschfield, Mark Stoller and
Morton Wineberg, ushers, and
Herbert Rosner, the bride's broth-
er, junior usher.
After the wedding dinner the
young couple left for a honey-
moon in California. Out-of-town
guests from Toronto, Washington,
D. C., Boston, New York and
Chicago attended the wedding.

The Greater Detroit Bnai Brith
Women's Council is planning its
first annual fund-raising affair—
a Bnai Brith Ball to be held Sat-
urday night, Nov. 29, at the Ma-
sonic Temple, Crystal Ballroom.
Music will be furnished by the
orchestras of Ray Gorrell and
Jimmy Stevenson.
The Council repiesents the 14
Bnai Brith Women's Chapters
now active in Detroit with a com-
bined membership of over 5,000
women. The Bnai Brith Ball is
their first major attempt to com-
bine the fund raising activities of
these 14 groups in their annual
endeavor to meet their commit-
ments as a philanthropic and serv-
ice organization on both a local.
and national scale. Their goal is
$50,000.
Mrs. Samuel Aaron is Council
president. Mrs. • Saul. Bloom will
'be assisted by fund-raising chair-
man, Mrs. Samuel Bank, Mrs.
Samuel Gold, Mrs. Robert Cog-
gan and Miss Lena Trock as fi-
nancial secretary,- ad, ticket and
publicity chairmen, respectively.
