At Wayne University she received her B.A: degree in education in 1944 and later attended Teachers College, Columbia University, where she received her M.A. de- gree in childhood education in 1947. While at Columbia Miss Winokur took courses at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.• She was also associated with the Beth Hayelea School in New York City, an experimental school in bicultural education. A' graduate of the Detroit United Hebrew Schools, Miss Winokur was a counselor at the Jewish Community Center's Camp Habonim in 1942.
