Views Trend Towards
Organizing U. S. Jewry

NEW YORK—Recent tenden-
cies in American Jewish organi-
zational life point strongly to the
formation of a democratic, cen-
tral body to represent the major
interests of American Jews, ac-
cording to Bernard G. Richards,
in "Organizing American Jewry,"
latest in the Jewish Affairs
pamphlet series published by the
Office of Jewish Information of
the AmIrican Jewish Congress.
Mr. Richards, secretary of the
American-Jewish delegation to
the Peaee Conference of Ver-
sailles, 1919, _claims the chief ob-
stacles to Jewish unity in the past
are rapidly disappearing. He.
cites the United- Jewish Appeal,
the Federation of Welfare Funds,
and the National Community Re-
lations Advisory Council as indi-
cations of a trend toward a single
coordination agency.
