To Hear Report on Youth Aliyah

Campaign workers for Detroit Hadassah's 1947 Honor
Roll for $100,000 will hear Mrs. Waitstill Hastings Sharp who,
with her husband, the Rev. W. H. Sharp, has been dubbed
"guardian angel of European children," and who has just re-
turned from a tour of Palestine, Czechoslovakia and France,
at the drive's first report meeting at 1:15 p. m. Tuesday, Sept.

Season Next Sunday

The opening meeting of the
Business and Professional Divi-
sion of Hadassah will be held at
2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the
garden of the Louis Redstones,

Mrs. Max Frank, well-known
communal leader, will be the
featured speaker. Goldie Slakter,
newly-elected chairman of the
division, will outline the group's
projects for the coming season.

SOS to Hold Meeting
On '47 Drive in New York

A national leadership confer-
ence on the special 1947 Cam-
paign of the SOS - (Supplies for
Overseas Survivors) collection of
the Joint Distribution Committee
will be held in New York City
Sept. 8, it was announced by
Mrs. Isaac Gilman, SOS national
co-chairman. The goal of the
drive is 6,000,000 pounds of food,
clothing and other relief supplies
for Europe's needy Jews.

Sept. 20, at the Book-Cadillac

tional Hadassah president, who
is expected to return this week
from Palestine, will be guest
speaker.
Admission to the dinner will
be on the basis of a $100 a plate
minimum. All Hadassah members
are invited.
