Before her marriage to Elliott Field Aug. 26, Frieda Rose Lasser
was entertained at a serie of pre-nuptial parties. Mrs. Walter Lasser
of Richton Ave. entertained at a luncheon Aug. • 9 at Huyler's; Mrs.
Walter Field of Cherrylawn Ave. was hostess at an open house Aug.
13; Mrs. Jacob Lasser of Fullerton Ave. gave a shower Aug. 16 at
Huyler's; Mrs. David Seligson of Sturtevant Ave. entertained at a
luncheon at the Club Bali, and Mrs. J. B. Dworman was hostess at a
luncheon at her home on Shrewsbury Rd. Aug. 23.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Spilman and family, formerly of Taylor Ave.,
are now residing at 4341 Fullerton.
Alice, Belle and Molly MoskoWitz of Blaine Ave. spent the Labor
Day week-end in Rochester, N. Y., where they attended the wedding
of their cousins, Dr. and Mrs. Irving Hersh.
Among those returning from vacations at Lesser's Clover Lodge
on Grand Traverse Bay are Mr. and Mrs. Myron Pilnick and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Iden and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Brenner and
children, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reznick and children.
Mr. and Mrs. Barney Newman, 2737 Tuxedo Ave., are spending
two weeks at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Shapero, 3380 Colling-wood Ave. have

returned from a cruise to Sault Ste. Marie, Midland, Ont., and Mack-
inac Island.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bakerman, 1533 Burlingame Ave., have
returned from a two.'-'week vacation at Atlantic City.
Mrs. Hal A. Simon (Mollie Delin) of Los Angeles is visiting with
her family in Detroit.
Miss Myra Owrutzky returned to her home in Philadelphia fol-
lowing a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Herman K. Cohen, 3230 Glendale.
James Spertner, son of Mrs. Edgar K. Spertner, 18700 Mendota
Ave. and Donald Levy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Levy, 16170

summer at North Star Camp.
Seventy guests were present at a post-nuptial shower at the Lee
Plaza on Sept. 3, which was given in honor of Mrs. Esther Sobelman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rosenberg of Los Angeles. The
bride's husband is William Hal Sobelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Sobelman, 18017 Griggs Ave., Out-of-town guests at the shower,
given by Mrs. Ruth Frank, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Harry
Sobelman, included Mrs. A. Seliger of Los Angeles and Mrs. B. Mill-
man of Minneapolis.
Daniel H. Katz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Katz, 18041 Griggs
Ave., has- departed for Honolulu to enter a course of studies at the
University of Hawaii. Previously a sophomore at Wayne University,
he was majoring in journalism and was a staff writer for the Detroit
Collegian, student daily. At Hawaii, he will major in the Japanese
language and culture.

was attended by her cousin, Miss
Nancy Sherman. The groom's
brother, Sidney, was best man.
The couple will reside in Chicago.

ESTROFF-WILK: Joan Wilk,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben-
jamin Wilk of Canterbury Rd.,
was united in marriage at a can-
dlelight ceremony, Thursday eve-
ning, Sept. 4, to Selig Herbert
Estroff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam-
uel Estroff of Birmingham, Ala.,
and Lakeland, Fla. The 6 o'clock
ceremony was performed in the
Crystal Ball Room of the Book

Glazer.

Mrs. William M. Harris was her
sister's matron of honor and Mel-
vin B. Estroff served his brother
as best man. Ushers were William
M. Harris, Nathan Estroff, Gerold
A. Cohen and Warren Shwayder.
The bride, who was given in
her marriage by her father, wore
an ivory satin gown with sweet-
heart neckline, long pointed
sleeves and a court train. Seed
pearls outlined the neckline and
trimmed the peplum of her gown.
Her fingertip veil of silk illusion
was held in place by a tiny
Julliette cap covered with seed
pearls. She carried a white bible
with a white orchid and stream-
ers of ribbon lace entwined with

Out-of-town guests from Lon-
don, England, Los Angeles, Buf-
falo, Flint, Brooklyn, Cleveland,
Chicago and Mexico City were
present.
The newlyweds are honey-
mooning in Northern Michigan.

an afternoon wedding, Sunday,
Aug. 24, Betty Haberman, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Haber-
man, became the bride of Earl
Shipper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
ward Shipper. Rabbi Max Wohl-
gelernter officiated at the cere-
mony at the home of the bride-

The bride wore a traditional
white gown and veil and carried
a colonial bouquet of gardenias.
