THE JEWISH NEWS

We met- a really- wonderful
teenager on Tuxedo the other
afternoon, Renah Shnaider. A
talented miss, she's an accom
plished pianist and her interests
are poetry, art and music.
As she laid aside her book,
"Kingsblood Royal," we realized
that it was her friendly -attitude
and sincerity that has made her
many friends and the Sub-Deb
Club come and visit her most
every day these last three years.
Renah was a student at Durfee
when she became a victim of
infantile paralysis. After spend-
ing 14 months in the hospital,
it was her courage that helped
her decide she would walk again.

CINCINNATI—The joint He-
brew Union College-University

ground for the day when they
will be called to communal lead-
ership," a college announcement
states.
Under the plan, the College
will offer these courses to young
men during a two-year period:
Jewish history, ceremonials,
reform Judaism, literature of the
bible, ideals of rabbinic litera-
ture, and history and sociology
of the American Jewish com-
munity.
Dr. Nelson Glueck, president
of the College, announced the

cepted for the joint program will

cepted for the program will have

A YOUNG COUPLE postponed
their marriage_for a month and
waited eight months because they
couldn't find an apartment. . Fi-
nally they said, "To heck with
it" and were married, last week
. Two days later they "received
a lease on a 3-room apt. . . . as
a gift! (Grimm couldn't have done
better... even if this isn't a fairy

Terminiello, suspended when
he refused his Bishop's orders to

Terminiello's letter to Kister._
resigning his chaplainship did
not sound so penitent: "I shall
always cherish with pride the
memories of my association with
you . . . You deserve whole-

Yes, it happened, we met the
"bobby-soxer's dream," the Hol-
lywood personality, Guy Madison
and the new star, Jacqueline
White, while they were on their
personal appearance tour. Imag-
ine being close enough to look
into these gorgeous blue eyes of
that beautiful hunk of man. Mr.
Madison feels Detroit teenagers
are great boys and girls and says
he enjoys having so many kids
around him, even if he is a tie or
two short and minus a suit sleeve.
Youth centers and youth coun-
cils
would certainly
benefit
young American lives. This tall
and handsome star feels the
movie industry can do much to-
ward eliminating juvenile de-
linquency by producing more
teenage movies. 11 o 1 ly wood

Fund which is now the cause
for which Californians and the
rest of the country are digging

interested in doing what it can
towards making ours a healthier
world.
