ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Yetta Schutzman has returned from Michigan -State College to
spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Schutzman of
Martindale Ave.
Martha Meister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meister of
Ewald Circle, celebrated her 16th birthday Jime 7 with a party for
16 guests at. her home.
Meyer Hyman of Clairmount Ave. entertained at a birthday
party in honor of his wife.
Mr. and Mrs. David Linde, their daughter, Mrs. Arthur Erdos,
and their cousin, Felix Morgenstern of Mexico, have left for a visit
to New York.
Mr. and Mrs. William Greenhut celebrated their silver wedding
anniversary June 15 with a dinner at the Palm Beach. Their sisters,
Miss Elsie Gilbert and Mrs. Belle Deutsch arrived from Los Angeles
for the occasion.
Mrs. Peter Vass of 2010 Chicago Blvd. will receive her relatives
and friends on Tuesday evening, June 24, from 9 to 11 o'clock, to
honor the marrage of her daughter, Alice Diane, to Norman Jules
Cohen. No cards.

John Edward Stamler, son of
17314 Muirland, was graduated on Monday from Kenyon College,
Gambier, 0. His parents motored to Gambier to attend the com-
mencement. His sister, Susan, a student of the University of Arizona
who visited last week with her room-mate, Miss Isabel Epstein of
Meadville, Pa., joined them for the ceremonies.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kutnick of Dexter Blvd. have returned from
a week-end trip to Chicago where they attended a Bar Mitzvah.
Mrs. Isadore Sherman of Los Angeles, Calif., who was the house
guest of Mr. and Mrs. David Curtis for three weeks, has returned to
her home.
Dr. and Mrs. Noah E. Aronstam have returned from a two-week
visit in New York with their childrep, Dr. and Mrs. Luis Pearlman,
and grandchildren.
Saul R. Levin, Honduran Consul in Detroit, has returned from
a business trip to Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico.
Joanne Sloan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sloan of Bur-
lingame Ave., was graduated June 12 from Wayne University.
• Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bright and Mrs. Nathan Naftulin had joint
open house last Sunday evening for their two University of Michigan
graduates, Gerald Bright, who received his Bachelor of Arts degree,
and Abraham Friedman, who received his Master's degree in Social
Work.
Elaine E. Levin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice H. Levin of
Steel Ave., is home on her summer vacation from U.C.L.A., Los
Angeles. Miss Levin has been selected as a delegate from Los
Angeles to attend the second annual IZFA convention to be held
in Pittsburgh, June 22 to 25.
Mrs. Henry J. Furer of Los Angeles was the guest of her sister,
Mrs. Abner G. Racow of Chicago Blvd. After spending a week here
she accompanied the Racow family to New Haven, Conn., where
their daughter, Natalie Harriet, was married June 1 to Mr. Nathan
H. Markow.
The following Detroiters have returned to their homes after
attending the wedding of Shirley Mannis and William W. Feldman
in Toronto, June 12: Dr. and Mrs. Louis E. Kamin and daughter,
Frannie, of W. Boston Blvd.; Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Feldman of
Glynn Ct., Dr. and Mrs. Bernard Feldman of Wildemere Ave., Mr.
and Mrs. Philip Kane, Mrs. Benjamin. Feldman, Mrs. and Mrs. Meyer
Zack, Mr. and.. Mrs. Joel Jacob, Mr. and Mrs. Temchin, William
Jacob, Henry Friedman, Al Goldberg, Herman Fidler, Mrs. William
Shevin, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Feldman and Mrs. Murray Jackson.
Bunny Shannon and Rita Sauls are California bound for the
summer months. The two will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Ostrow of Beverly Hills.
Mrs. Harry Singer is spending several days in Kalamazoo and
Grand Rapids where she will be installing officer for the Women's
Bnai Brith Chapters in both cities. Mr. Singer will join her in
Grand Rapids where they will attend the district conference of
the International Printinghouse Craftsmen.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kort announce the graduation of their
daughter, Dorothy, on Thursday, June 12, from Wayne University.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
Mr..-aad Mrs. Ben L. Silberstein and daughter, Muriel, of Santa
Barbara Dr., ale visiting in New York.
Mrs. Harry Newman of Lawrence Ave. and Mrs. Isaac Gilbert
of Boston Blvd. left for Charlevoix where they plan to spend the
summer. They were accompanied by their sister, Laura Lowell,
and Elsie Jackson of New York.
Miss Edith Heavenrich of Trowbridge Ave. is spending a week
with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wineman at their summer home in
Gaylord, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo I. Franklin and their son, John, have moved
from Pennington Ave. to their new home at 17155 Muirland.
Mrs. S. Lambert Brown of Lucerne Dr. accompanied by her
daughter, Mary, left on Thursday for a visit in New York. On June
30 they will attend the commencement exercises at Vassar College
in Poughkeepsie, N. Y., when her daughter Sally will _be graduated.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Foltz returned to their home in Kansas City,
Mo., on Wednesday following a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Melville
Wtit of Balmoral Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Meyer and their sons, George and Paul
of Chicago Blvd. are visiting members of their family in Alabama
and Mississippi.
Home from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. for the sum-
mer vacation are Bunny Zemon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian
L. Zemon, Nancy Wolfner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian G. Wolf-
ner, and Joyce Barrar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Barrar of
Ohio Ave.
Henrietta and Setta Robinson of Calvert Ave. have returned
from Atlantic City.
Enid Maslon is returning to her home in Minneapolis this Fri-
day after a week's visit with Susan Dreifus of Birchcrest Ave.
Susan Waichen who attends Lincoln School in Providence, L. I.,
and her brother, John, who is a student at Kenyon College in
Gambier, 0., are home for the summer with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Kaichen of Huntington Woods. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Julis Gilbert and their son, Jay, of Arden Pk. left
Monday for their summer home in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Brodie of Chicago Blvd. left last week
for a few weeks stay in Atlantic City and the Poconoe Mts. in
Pennsylvania. Their daughter, Madeline, who attends Northwest-
ern University, accompanied them for a week before returning to
the university where she will attend the summer session.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fleischaker of West Eight Mile Rd. have
returned fro ma visit in Chicago and Louisville.

fully appointed ceremony, the
marriage of Shirley Victor
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M.
Victor, to Marvin Finkel, son of
Mrs. Lena Finkel, was solgmnized
in the home of the bride's parents
on Fairfield Ave. Rabbi A. M.
Hershman officiated.
The bride wore a gown of
heavy ivory satin, fashioned with
long sleeves and hooped skirt,
ending in a sweeping train. Her
three-quarter length veil of im-
ported French silk illusion was
studded with irredescent sequins.
and fell from a sequined and
beaded satin juliet cap.,She car-
ried a . Bible with orchids and
lilies-of-the-valley. -
The bride was attended by her
two sisters, Mrs. Jack Goldberg
and Mrs. Samuel Stulberg. The
bridegroom was attended by
Ned Lenhard and Harold Victor,
brother of the bride. Michael
Stulberg, nephew of the bride,
was ringbearer.
The couple left on a month's
honeymoon trip to Savannah
Beach Ga., and New York.

BBYO Advisors Hold
Town Hall Discussion

The Advisor's Council of the
Bnai Brith Youth Organization,
AZA and BBYM division, will
sponsor a Town Hall meeting at
8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, in But-
zel Hall of the Jewish Center.
The subject will be, "The Role
of the Advisor in BBYO." On the
panel will be Max Kushner, Dave
Darvin, Harry Abramson and
Dave Rappoport, representing the
advisors, and Ernie Weiss and
Paul Fink, representing the mem-
ber groups. Advisor Harry Mirvis
will act as moderator and Chuck
Levy as resource person.
Following the panel, the floor
will be open to questions. Re-
freshments will be served after
the meeting.
Members of the planning com-
mittee are Harry Mirvis, chair-
man; Dave Rappoport, James
L aker and Sol Sachs.
