McDonald Speaks June 15
For JNF Labor Dept. Here
James G. McDonald, world-famous champion of human
rights and longtime friend of Zionism, will address an open
meeting Sunday, June 15, at Temple Beth El, under the aus-
pices of the Labor Department of the Jewish National Fund,
of which Alex Nichamin is chairman. . .

Statler Hotel, Shirley Feurring,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isidore
Feurring. became the bride of
Paul Charles Feinberg, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Silas C. Feinberg.
The matron of honor was Mrs:

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Roland
Levine, sister of the bridegroom,
Regene Garelik and Leatrice
Singer.
The bridegroom's best man
was his brother-in-law, Roland
Levine. His Attendants were Al-
bert Feurring, brother of the
bride. Melvin Wachs and Murray
Frain.
After dinner and a reception,
the couple left for their honey-
moon at Potawatomi Inn, An-
gola, Ind., and will temporarily
reside in Chicago,
conducting an investigation fol-
lowing up the committee's work.
He recently returned from Eng-
land, where he launched the
Joint Palestine Appeal, sister
campaign to America's United
Palestine Appeal.
A leader in education and in-
ternational relations since the
end of World War I, McDonald
has served as chairman of the
Foreign Policy Asspciation, for-
eign affairs radio Commentator,
international relations editorial
writer for the New York Times,
and member of the New York
City Board of Education.
From 1933 to 1936 he was High
Commissioner for Refugees of
the League- of Nations. He re-
signed that post, however, dis-
appointed in the failure of gov-
ernments to cooperate effectively
in rescuing the victims of Hitler-
dom. Sincp 1938 he has been
chairman of the President's Ad-
visory Committee on Political
Refugees and, since 1933, honor-
ary chairman of the Foreign Pol-
icy Association.
McDonald is "also a director of
the National Refugee Service and
a trustee of the American Coun-
cil of the Institute of Pacific Re-
lations and of the Twentieth
Century Fund.
His address here will be open
to the public. There will be no
charge for admission.

tine was urged in a resolution
adopted at a meeting in Madison
Square Garden celebrating the
twenty-fifth anniversary of the
Morning Freiheit. The resolu-
tion called for abrogation of the
British mandate and withdrawal
of British troops from Palestine.
