Aire. entertained the Temple Beth El High School graduating class
and intsructor, Miss Faye Portner, Friday evening, May 16, at a
buffet supper and dancing at their home.
Eleanor Weiss of 2651 W. Philadelphia entertained 20 guests at
her home in honor of her 16th birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Rosenstein had as their guests their son and
daughter-in-law, Capt. and Mrs. Herbert Rosten and their small'
daughter, Judith Ann, of New Orleans. Capt. Rosen is port judge
advocate for the New Orleans port of embarkation.
In honor of the forthcoming marriage of Marilyn Miriam Gold
of San Juan Dr., Mrs. Jules Bloom and Mrs. Max Shelden gave a
personal shower at Huyler's; Mrs. Joseph Singer entertained at a
kitchen shower at Huyler's, and Mrs. David Zellman of Cincinnati
and Mrs. Julian Cartier entertained at a luncheon at the Stockholm.
Mr. and Mrs. David Lowenstein will celebrate their 25th wed-
ding anniversary with a party Saturday, May 24.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Pupko of Chicago Blvd. celebrated their
25th wedding anniversary May 18 with a family dinner at North-
wood Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. Reuben B. Klamer (Charlotte Brawer) are now
residing at 1621 Hillhurst, Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Litishedsky of Oslo, Norway, are expected
to arrive in Detroit this Friday to be guests for a month, on their
honeymoon, of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Epel of 3019 Pingree. Mr. Litished-
sky is a nephew of Mr. Epel. His parents visited here from Norway
last year.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spatt have as their guests Mr. Spatt's
sisters, Mrs. Anna Yourman and Mrs. Louis Wolfe of Brooklyn.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Becker of Strathcona Dr., have as their
guest this weekend Mrs. Albert Baker of New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Kraus of 2744 Gladstone, and Mrs. Kraus'
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gordon of Chicago Heights, Ill., are
vacationing in California.
Honoring her niece, Rita Lenore Kaltman. whose marriage to
Alfred Loewenstein, Jr. takes place in June, Mrs. Reuben Robert
Kaltman entertained at a luncheon at the Statler Hotel Thursday,
May 22.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Freudenberg and son, Jay "Ulan, are
now at home at their new residence, 19194 Hubbell.
Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Weintraun of Los Angeles, formerly of
Detroit, announce the confirmation of their daughter, Marilyn, from
Wilshire Blvd. Temple, Los Angeles, on Sunday. A reception will be

Windsor Starts Drive for Center;
Stuchen to Address Council May 27
Windsor's Jewish Community
Council this week announced
that the drive for $150,000 for a
community center has had a good
start, with initial gifts totalling
$31,000, from eight contributors.
The initial gifts of this group
are reported to be 106 per cent
more than their gifts to last
year's welfare fund.
Harry M. Cherniak, chairman
of the Windsor Community Coun-
cil, expressed satisfaction over
assurances given by the contrib-
utors that these gifts will not in-
terfere with the aid they will
give to `61drives for the
welfare fund.
