Members of the Jewish Com-
munity Center witnessed a dra-
matic representation of the wide
scope of Center activities at the
14th annual meeting held May 7
at the Center.
The skit, "From Three to 83,"
with assistant director Harold
Arian as narrator, described the
program for each age group.
New members of the Center
Board of Directors elected at the
meeting include Tom Borman,
Harvey H. Goldman, Mrs. Ben-
jamin E. Jaffe, Sol King, Mrs.
Maurice Landau, Bertha M. Rob-
inson, Robert H. Schwarz and
Charles Wolok.
Honorary directors approved
by the membership include Rab-
bi Morris Adler, Fred M. Butzel,
Clarence H. Enggass, Rabbi Leon
Fram, Dr. Leo M. Franklin, Wil-
liam Friedman, Dr. B. Benedict
Glazer, Dr. A. M. Hershman,
Henry Meyers, Charles Rubiner,
Rabbi Joshua S. Sperka, Abra-
ham Srere and Henry Wineman.
Samuel H. Rubiner, president
of the Center, presided at the
meeting and presented statistics
showing expansion in member-
ship and activity scope for the
year. He emphasized the work
of the Center branches on 12th
St. and Dexter, and promised
further expansion in neighbor-
hood work.
Herman Jacobs, executive di-
rector, also spoke briefly.
In a special ceremony, out-
standing volunteers who served
the USO-JWB program were giv-
en certificates of merit on behalf
of the JWB. Rabbi Morris Adler
spoke briefly, expressing the gra-
titude of the former soldiers for
the USO services, and presented
the awards.

ed by his daughter, Bette, a stu-
dent at Wayne University.

the cast of his New York play,
"I Am in Love," which will be

Irving Blumberg has been pres-
ident of the Detroit Service
Group since 1941. In addition he
serves on the board of directors
and the executive committee of
the Jewish Welfare Federation,
is vice president and member of
the board of the Knollwood
CoUntry Club, and a member of
the Standard Club. He also is
active in the Zionist organization
and Bnai Brith, Keidan Lodge.
