Mrs. Morris Rosenberg of Strathcona Dr. is visiting in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Greenberg of Ohio Ave. have as their guest,
Mr. Greenberg's sister, Mrs. Samuel Glassburg, who is enroute to
her home in Minneapolis from Birmingham, Ala., where she has been
visiting.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Osher (Sylvis Rosensky of Okalhoma City)
have returned from their honeymoon and for the present are residing
at the Lee Plaza.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sherman of Warrington Rd. have returned
from New York.
Mrs. Joseph Holtzman and Mrs. Jason Honigman both of Oak
Dr. are spending a few days in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert -Rosenberg of Ohio Ave. and their nephew
Eugene Murmurstein left on Tuesday for a visit in New York.

Sktilnick Makes 1st
Stage Appearance
Here in Two Years

Making his first appearance on

a Detroit stage in two years (

Menashe Skulnick, Yiddish star
of stage and radio, will present
his New York comedy success "I
Am In Love" at two perform-
ances Sunday, May 18.
The matinee performance
begins at 2:30 p. m. and the eve-
ning performance at 8:30 p. m.
Tickets are available at Metro
Music House, Chesluk's Book
Store, or from Abraham Litt-
man, who will sponsor the pro-
duction, at 2086 Blaine.
The show, which played for a
full season in Skulnick's Second
Ave. theatre, was written by
William Siegel. Music is com-
posed by Abe Elstein.
The entire New York cast will
appear in the Detroit production.
Stars of the show include Lily
Liliana, Leon Liebgold, Yetta
Zwerling, Max Rosenblatt and
Anna Teitelbaum.

Bar Mitzvahs

Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Jones
announce the Bar Mitzvah of
their son, Richard Alan, to be
observed on Friday night., May
16, at services of Temple Israel
in the Detroit Institute of Arts.
A reception in the Bar Mitzvah's
honor will take place after the
services and Mr. and Mrs. Jones

Monsky Memorial Rally

Memorial services for Henry

Youth Leaders
Meet to Organize
New Federation

Realizing the need for a federa-
tion of Detroit Jewish youth, a
group of youth leaders headed by
Leonard P. Baruch, have called
a meeting of organizatio–nal repre-
sentatives for 8 p. m. Wednesday,
May 14, at the Wayne University
Hillel Foundation, 4841 Second.
Presidents, and one member-at-
large, of all organizations with
membership ages ranging from
16 to 30 are asked to be present
The immediate purpose of the
proposed federation is a date
clearance service, "to help avoid
the costly mistakes of the past,"
according to Baritch. Other ac-
tivities may be undertaken by the
federation at the - discretion of
the representatives.
"An alliance of this type will
greatly strengthen the voice of
young Jewry," Baruch declared.
Representatives of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, Jewish Com-
munity Council and the Jewish
Community Center have been in-
formed of the program and have
pledged their support, Baruch
said.

Palestine Philharmonic

At a candlelight ceremony at
the Statler Hotel May 5, Sarah
B. Goldberg, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Goldberg, be-
came the bride of Herman H.
Zusman.
Wearing a candlelight satin
gown trimmed with fans of seed
pearls and silver beads, tre bride
carried a bouquet of white or-
chids and lilies of the valley.
Her veil of illusion was held by
a crown of seed pearls and sil-
ver beads.
Mrs. Sadie _Siren, the bride's
sister, was matron of honor and
the bridesmaids were Dorothy
Kahn, Della Shulman, Eleanor
Boigon and Betty Fishman.
Paul Zusman was his brother's
best man and Bernie Goldman,
Clifford Feldman, Irving Ross
and David Jassy were ushers.
After a wedding dinner, the
young couple left for a honey-
moon in New Orleans.
Out-of-town guests from Cali-
fornia, Chicago, St. Louis, Cleve-
land and Brantford, Ontario,
were present.

JERUSALEM, (JTA)—Leon-
ard Bernstein, American com-
poser now serving as guest com-
poser of the Palestine Philhar-
monic Symphony Orchestra,
whose first performance with
the group earlier in the week re-
ceived high praise,. lauded the
orchestra as potefitially one of
the finest in the world.
Among the problems facing
the group, he listed the lack of a
permanent conductor, lack of a
suitable music hall and the fact
that the musicians were over-
worked.
Bernstein declared he would
be happy to help prepare the
orchestra for its contemplated
tour of the United States.
