Immigration Hopes
Dim in S. America
NEW YORK, (JPS) - Pros-
pects for any substantial Jew-
ish immigration into Latin
American countries are very
slim, according to the findings of
representatives of the Hebrew
Sheltering and Immigrant Aid
Society (BIAS) who conducted
a survey in Buenos Aires.
In 1946 only 2,407 Jews were
admitted into the 19 republics
of South and Central America
and the West Indies.

Howard Fast Sea Story
Adapted for Broadcast
Howard Fast's e4icting sea
story of Revolutionary times,
"The Price of Liberty," adapted
for radio by Arnold Perl, will be
broadcast on the Eternal Light
radio program at 8 a. m., Sunday,
May 11 on station WWJ.
- Red-haired, pock-marked John-
ny Ordronaux, a French Jew who
adopted the American colonies as
his home, came to Baltimore with
the dream of building a clipper
that could run the British block-
ade during the Revolution. "The
Price of Liberty" tells how the
ship was built- and how Johnny
found that the price of liberty
was the blood of brave men.

To My Mother
By FRANCES WALKER
I've gone about for years. I End,
With my eyes half blind,
Wasting golden hours
In search of mothers
That do not exist. It- seems,
Except in a dream.
But in my wandering I've found
No eyes more true than thine,
Oh! Mother dear!
Youth fades, leaves fall;
A mother's friendship will follow me
through.
Just to be near you and a touch
Of your hand will guide me through
the ages.
My life would be so complete
If I could always have you,
Mother dear.
