Mrs. William Goodman of the Wilshire Hotel has returned home
after a month's stay in St. Joseph, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan N. Brown and family have returned from
Buffalo, N. Y., where they spent the holidays with their sister and
brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Hy Seders.
Madeline Shiljer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Shiller of
Holcomb Ave., returned home after spending the winter in Holly-
wood, Calif. Enroutc she visited with her uncle and aunt, Dr.
and Mrs. N. A. Court of Norman, Okla.
Dr. and Mrs. Nathaniel L. Feldman and daughters have moved
into their new home at 17338 Woodingham Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Waterman and daughter, Helen, have re-
turned from Los Angeles, where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Shanfield, formerly of Belleville, Mich. Accompanying them
on the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Morris Weinman of Elmhurst Ave.
Helen Simon of Sturtevant Ave. has returned from a visit to
Toronto.
Mrs. Marshall Miller of Wildemere Ave. has returned with her
daughters, Yvonne and Victoria, after three months in Coral Gables.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyers of 2714 Hazelwood have left to
spend a month in Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Friedman and daughter, Rochelle Ann,
have returned to Cleveland after a visit with Mrs. Friedman's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Pomerance of Elmhurst Ave.
Hy Bialick of 1611 W. Philadelphia has returned from four weeks
in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Ravid left Thursday for an extended visit in
Miami Beach and Havana.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Plaut of Cincinnati have returned home
after a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yanich of
Leslie Ave.
Doris Lee Abramsohn of Ilene Ave. has returned from a month
in Burbank. Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Solomon B. Cohen of 3203 Webb will be at home
from 7 to 11 p. m. Sunday, April 20, in honor of their son, Irwin,
whose Bar Mitzvah was observed April 5 at the Young Israel
Synagogue. No cards.
After spending the winter in Miami Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Abra-
ham Lemberg have returned to their home on Merton road.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farbsten of Burlington Rd. have returned
from Palm Beach where they spent the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eisenstatt have returned to their home in
Chicago after a .visit with Mrs. Eisenstatt's brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wineman of Hamilton Dr., and their mother,
Mrs. Joseph Friedman.
Mrs. Clarence Enggass left on Monday for New York where she
plans to spend 10 days visiting with members of her family.
Mrs. M. M. Witteishofer of Boston Blvd. left on Wednesday for
Boston where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Arthur
Katzenburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian G. Wolfner of Burlingame Rd. have returned
from an extended stay in Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor W. Klein of Stratford Rd. have returned
from a few days' stay in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder of Fairfield-Ave. left on Wed-
nesday for Miami Beach, where they will be guests for a fortnight
at the Triton Hotel.
Miss Marie Newman is planning to leave this Saturday for 10
days in New York.
Ervin Greenbaum of Glynn Ct. is in Paris, France, for a few
weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Thal of Glynn Ct. have returned from a week
in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Harris of Gloucester Dr. have returned
from an extended visit to California.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Blumberg of Manderson Rd. have returned
from a stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
S/1/c Marvin Jacobs, who is stationed at Guantanomo Naval Air
Station in Cuba, is spending a 20-day leave with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Jacobs of Glynn Ct.

Julius Rosenwald Post of the
American Legion is prepared to
assist relatives of servicemen
buried overseas in arranging for
the reburial of their loved ones
in the United States, it was an-
nounced this week by Max
Ornstein, post commander.
Arrangements f o r reburial
on a military basis, in a na-
tional military . cemetery or in
any cemetery the family selects,
will be in charge of Joseph Shap-
iro, Americanization officer for

Jones Post to Show
War Film Tuesday

Lawrence H. Jones Post of the
Jewish War Veterans, announces
the coming show of the War De-
partment's picture "True Glory"
at its quarters at 8212 Twelfth
St. at 8:30 p. m. Tuesday.
The picture - True Glory" was
made by the request of Gen.
Eisenhower and produced under
supervision of the American and
British armies, and shows actual
battle scenes and conditions from
130-Day until V-E Day.
Veterans and their friends are

Bernstein to Conduct
Palestine Philharmonic

Leonard Bernstein, conductor
of the New York City Symphony
Orchestra, will leave New York
to conduct the Palestine Phil-
harmonic Orchestra in a series
of concerts, April 28 to May 9.
Bernstein announced that the
American Fund for Palestinian
Institutions is making plans to
bring the orchestra to the United
States.

Former Vienna Official
Blasts Levin's Column

Taking exception to Arnold
Levin's "Heard in the Lobbies"
column in our last week's issue,
Fritz Flesch indignantly asks for
a retraction of the charge that
"today's enemies of civilization"
are "the Huns, the Baumgartners,
the Schumachers, the Hoegners,
etc."
Mr. Flesch, a former important
city official of Vienna maintains
the men attacked by Mr. Levin
are anti-Nazis who were in con-
centration camps. The Jewish
News is passing the complaint on
to Mr. Levin with a request for
clarifying statement.

ers Alliance on Wednesday eve-
ning, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Green-
berg were honored on the occa-

the tax adopted at the recent na-

Rabbi Morris Adler officiated.
The bride wore a gown of ivory
satin with a sheer illusion yoke
and hip panniers. She carried a
bouquet of white orchids and
stephanotis.
Her attendants were Mrs. Mil-
ton London, matron-of-honor;
Marilyn Lieberman and Mrs.
Mansfield Schlesinger, brides-
maids, and Wendy Ann Wetsman,
flower girl.
Mitchell Schnaar 'was his brot-
her's best man. Ushers were Mil-
ton London, Mansfield Schlesing-
er, Berton London and Joseph
Dobkin.
After a dinner in the Wayne
Room of the Statler the bridal
couple left on a trip to Cuba.
