Services for the last day of the
Passover festival will be held at
the Northwest Hebrew Congre-
gation at 8:45 a. m. Saturday,
April 12.
The service will include the
Yizkor memorial prayers, to be
recited at 10:15 a. m. Rabbi
Jacob E. Segal will preach on the
subject "Freedom to Live as a
Jew."
Late Sabbath eve services will
be held at 8:30 p. m. Friday,
April 18. The entire service will
be conducted by members of the
Junior Congregation. In place of
the usual sermon a symposium
will be held on the theme "Great
Moments in Jewish History."
Gerald Loomus, Louise Miller
and Elaine Rothman will par-
ticipate. The prayers will be
chanted by Bobby Shapiro.
The following Sabbath morn-
ing, April 19, the entire service
will be chanted by Earl Jacobs,
who will celebrate his Bar Mitz-
vah on that day. Rabbi Segal's
sermon topic will be "The Priest
and the Prophet."

Union College, Rabbi Smoller is
now a member of its board of
governors. He is also treasurer
of the Central Conference of
American Rabbis and a member
of the administrative committee
of the HUC Alumni Association.
Before his Chicago post he
occupied pulpits in Ohio and Mis-
souri.

The next in Shaarey Zedek's
series of late Friday evening ser-
vices and Oneg Shabbats will be
held at 8:15 p. m. Friday, April
18. The service will be conduct-
ed by Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar
and a male choir. Rabbi Adler
will preach on "Three Jews—
Three Paths."
Following the service, a social
hour will be held in the social
hall. Shirley Subar will direct
the religious school choir in a
number of selections. Cantor
Sonenklar will lead the audience
in community singing. There
will be a question and discussion
period based upon the sermon.
