At Shaarey Zedek

Passover services at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek will be held at
8:45 a. m. Saturday and Sunday,
and Friday and Saturday, April
11 and 12.
Rabbi Morris Adler will preach
on the first two days of Passover
and on the seventh day. Cantor
Jacob H. Sonenklar and a choir
of six will chant the service.
On the last day of Passover
Rabbi Frances Hevesi, chief rabbi
of the Jewish Community of Pest,
Hungary, will deliver the sermon.
Rabbi Hevesi served as chief of
the Jewish chaplains in the Hun-
garian army with the rank of
major-general. He was professor
of Jewish philosophy at the Rab-

binical seminary in Budapest.
Yizkor will be recited at 10:30
a. m.
Members of the Junior Congre-
gation will participate in the
main service.
Shaarey Zedek school pupils
staged a Model Seder on Sunday,
March 30. The following partici-
pated under the supervision of
Miss Charlotte Kelman: Morris
Grossbard, Mary Lou Feldstein,
Richard Diskin, Gloria Manela,
Elain Stern, Melvin Lester, Sam-
my Kaplan, Marvin Dubrinsky,
Milton Einstandig and Naomi
Freeman. A movre, 'Gateway to
Freedom," was shown at the
school assemblies.

Lion of officers of the congrega-
tion will be held at 8:30 p.
Tuesday, April 15, in the Social
Hall of Shaarey Zedek.

services Friday will begin at 6:30
p. m., Saturday at 6 p. m. Morn-
ing prayers will begin at 9 a. m.
Saturday, April 12, when Yizkor
prayers are said, the morning
services will begin at 8:30 p. m.
Chol Hamoed services will be on
regular week-day schedules.
Cantor David Katzman will
conduct the services in the main
synagogue. Rabbis Fischer and
Levi will deliver the sermons on
alternate days.
Friday, April 11, Rabbi Francis
Hevesi, chief of chaplains and Lt.
Gen. in the Hungarian army and
chief rabbi of Budapest, will
occupy the pulpit. Dr. Hevesi will
bring a first hand report of con-
ditions in Hungary.
