Hear Dr. Linick April I

Dr. Marvin Linick., former
medical and denazificatiOn offi-
cer in the American Occupation
Zone in Germany, will speak to
the Physicians and Pharmacy sec-
tions of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign at 8 p. m., Tuesday evening,
April 1, in the Lee Plaza Hotel.
Sponsoring organizations f o r
the meeting are the Maimonides
Medical Society, Phi" Delta Epsi-
lon a n d Phi Lambda Kappa
medical fraternities.
Among Dr. Linick's duties were
assisting in the denazification of
all doctors, nurses and hospital
staffs. His headquarters were in
Munich where headquarters of
the Joint Distribution Committee,
the Jewish Agency for Palestine,
and the Central Committee of
Liberated Jews alsb were located.
Arrangements for the meeting
were made by the executive com-
mittee of the Physicians section,
who invited the Pharmacy sec-
tion to meet in joint session be-
cause of Dr: Linick's special in-
terest for pharmacists.
Members of the executive com-
mittee are Dr. Charles Lakoff,
chairman. and Drs. Raphael Alt-
man, Saul Barnett. Meryl Fenton,
Leo Orecklin, Bernard Rose and
Milton Sorock.

Fire Department
Promotes Adler
To Battalion Chief

Joseph H. Adler of 2460 Fuller-
ton, became the only high-rank-
ing Jewish officer in the Detroit
Fire Department when he was
awarded the gold badge of a
battalion chief at a ceremony at
Department headquarters last
Tuesday morning.

A veteran of 29 years as a fire-
fighter, Adler began as an or-
pipeman, and received
dinary
steady promotions to the ranks of
sergeant, lieutenant and captain.
Located at Engine Comparay 37, at
Second and Burroughs, he is now
supervisor of eight stations in
that vicinity.
Adler is married and has Iwo
daughters, Julie and Hari
and his daughters are talented
dancers; Julie is weli-known as
a dancing, teacher. Adler is a
member of the Fire Department
Officer's Club.

1946 Pledge to Allied Campaign

Junior Service Group board members and campaign staff
more than doubled their last year's pledges at a meeting held
Sunday, March 23, in Marge Aronsson s home. Isidore Sobeloff,
executive director of the Jewish Welfare Federation, addressed
the group.
NorrAan Naimark, chairman, and Mandell Berman, vice-
chairman of the Junior Division of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, announced the following appointments of Division
Chairmen for the Campaign:

Lipmen Levinsor., Palestine
businessman and community
leader, visited Detroit last week.
He met with a group of Zionist
leaders at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Leon Kay to discuss up-to-
date activities in Palestine.
While in Detroit Mr. and Mrs.
Levinson were the guests of the
Ford Motor Co. on a tour
through the Rouge plant.

Campaign leaders have been mobilized during the past few
weeks to head the various divisions in the Aliqd Jewish Campaign.
