be established jointly with the
Synagogue Council of America.
The council adopted _a resolu-
tion calling for the establishment
of a permanent Fair Employment
Practice Commission with power
to enforce its orders in the courts,
and urged an expansion of pro-
grams for the elimination of dis-
crimination in employment,
stressing that such activities must
be conducted on a full-time
basis.
A report by Judge David Rose
of Boston—based on information
gathered by the American Jew-
ish Committee, the American
Jewish Labor Committee, The
American Jewish Congress and
The Anti-Defamation League
of Bnai Brith — said that
organized anti - Semitic activ-
ity had decreased sharply during
the year. The report character-
ized as "critical," however, cur-
rent discrimination in education,

Sponsored by 31 Detroit youth groups, the Jewish Youth
Conference on Palestine will be conducted here this week-
end—Friday through Sunday—featuring a program that will
include 15 panel e'cussions on every conceivable topic of
importance affecti_ig Zionism and Palestine.
The conference begins tonight with services at Temple

Israel, in the Art Institute, the
Temple Israel Youth Group act-
ing as host to all participants.
Rabbi Leon Fram will deliver
the sermon on the topic "Social
Idealism- in Palestine."
Formal Opening
The formal opening of the con-
ference will take place Saturday,
March 29, 8:30 p. m., at Congre-
gation Bnai Moshe, at a program
to be conducted by the confer-
ence chairmen, Bernard Ryback
and Leonar 1 P. Baruch. A series
of modern ..."alestinian dances will
be presented by the Jewish Cen-
ter Dance Group under the direc-
tion of Fanny Aaronson. Miss
Frances Bloom, soprano, and Miss
Betty Kowalsky, pianist, will
present a Palestinian program.
There will be community singing
under the leadership of Moe
Kesner. The Habonim choir will
participate in the program.
Saturday night's guest speaker
will be Rabbi Eliezer Levi whose
topic will be "Palestine Challenge
to American Jewish Youth." A
film, "GatelPay to Freedom," will
be shown.
Sunday's Discussions
Panel discussions will be con-
ducted Sunday, starting at 1:30
p. m., at the Jewish Community
Center, by the following speak-
ers, on the following subjects:

1. Explanation of Palestine Mandate
and Balfour Declaration. panel leader,
Seymour Tilchin.
2. Over half a century in Eretz
Y israel, panel leader, Rabbi Jacob
Segal.
3. Is there a conflict between Amer-
icanism and Zionism? Panel leader,
Rabbi William Gold.
4. The renaissance of Jewish culture
in Palestine. panel leader, Abraham
Twersky.

6. Arab-Jewish relations. Panel lead-

Each panel leader will be as-
sisted by two members of par-
ticipating youth groups who will
act as chairman and discussant.
Conference Banquet
At 6:30 p. m. Sunday, the entire
conference will meet for a ban-
quet, the guest speaker • being
Rabbi Leo Geiger of New York,
on the topic "The Role of UJA
in Palestine." Rabbi Geiger served
as Chaplain with the AAF and
studied in the Hebrew University.
A dance will follow the ban-
quet.
There will be no
' charge for
panel discussions. There will be
a charge of $1 for the Saturday
evening program and dance.
Reservations also are being taken
at the Jewish Center for the ban-
quet on Sunday.

MP's Call on Government
To Seize Anti-Semitic Leaflets
LONDON, (JTA)—Daniel Lip-
son, Independent, and William
Gallacher, Communist, called on
the British government to con-
fiscate anti-Jewish leaflets sent
here from Sweden and to arrest
persons who distribute them. The
leaflets are mailed by Einer
Aberg, a Swedish anti-Semite.

Silverman Post Installs
Moran As Commander

The annual installation of the
officers of the Sgt. Morton A. Sil-
verman Post, Jewish War Vet-
erans, will be held March 30 at
the Lee Plaza Hotel. Harold Mo-
ran, commander-elect, will be in-
stalled by the department com-
mander and the chief of staff.
- Down River Post No. 225, JWV,
is sponsoring an all-Veteran Night
April 22 in River Rouge. Depart-
ment commanders of all major
veteran organizations in Michi-
gan will participate.
The monthly trek of the Re-
habilitation Committee with rep-
resentatives of the Ladies' Aux-
iliaries, entertained 250 veterans
in the Veterans' Fatilities Hospi-
tal in Dearborn with an all-star
wrestling match, and distributed
cigars, cigarets, and chewing
gum. Among those present were
Rudolf Stein, rehabilitation chair-
man; Mrs. Esther Tenzer Sr., vice
president of the auxiliaries, and
Dr. Perry P. Burnstine, depart-
ment commander.

In Constituent Assembly
LONDON, (JTA) — Minority
rights for Indian Jews and Jew-
ish representation in the Indian
Constituent Assembly has been
urged in a memorandum submit-
ted to the provisional Indian
government by the Bombay Cen-
tral Jewish Board, A. Cynowicz,
a member of the board visiting
here, told the Jewish Telegraphic
Agency.
