ened to "quislings" who are serv-
ing Britain's purpose in under-
mining the Jewish position, in a
letter from a Jerusalem mer-
chant to a Detroit friend, the lat-
ter being here on a visit from
Palestine. The names are omit-
ted for obvious reasons.
The letter describes the hor-
rors of martial law, the cancella-
tion of bus and taxi service, the
shortage of food, and reveals the
Dan Bus Co. was losing $12,000
daily. The letter continues:
"They (the British) want to
kill us economically and are suc-
ceeding beautifully. I don't see
a way out of it. There is, of
course, no question they want to
fight the terrorists; for they left
the biggest part of the country
free for this purpose. and the
terrorists of course, are proceed-
ing in their 'glamorous' job. I
think I could kill them with my

Muck in 1921. In 1923 he was

politan Opera in New York. He
was conductor of the Opera House
