Ballroom Dance Classes
Begin This Monday
The first session of ballroom
dancing classes will begin this

Teensters Form Drama
Group in Dexter Area
A new dramatic group has been
formed at the TY W. Simons
School as part of a plan to in-
crease the house activity of the
Jewish Community Center in the
Dexter area. Charter members. of
the group:Are Josephine HOff-
man, Sally Fishman, Alice
Bloomberg,'Allan Krass, Marvin
Sneider, and Arnold Shaichet.
The group plans to study and
perform contemporary plays by
American a n d English play-
wrights on Jewish and general
themes. It wilt undertake as its
first endeavor a group of one-act
plays. Membership will be open
to boys and girls, 15 to 19, who
are seriously interested in dra-
matic activities and who live in
the Dexter area. Meetings will
be held at the D. W. Simons
School, Tuxedo at Holmur, at 8
p. .m., every Tuesday.

Juvenile Court Judge
Speaks at Center Wednesday
Judge D. J. Healy will speak
to the Wednesday Evening Dis-
cussion Group at 9 p. m. March
26, in the Ginsburg Lounge of
the Center. His topic will be
"Juvenile Court and Youth
Problems."
Judge Healy has been Judge
of Probate and the Juvenile
Court for the past 14 years. He
has developed a "Big-Brother-
Movement" and established the
Juvenile Traffic Court.

Brings DPs Here

NEW YORK — Over 400 refu-
gees from displaced persons camps
have arrived in this country with-
in the past two weeks, through
the aid of the Joint Distribution
Committee and HMS.
The S. S. Marine Flasher ar-
rived from Bremen, Germany,
with 640 DPs abroad, of whom
the majority was Jewish. The
S. S. Ernie Pyle brought an addi-
tional 185 survivors to New York.
The JDC office here has also re-
ceived word from Shanghai of
the embarkation of 318 Jewish
refugees who are expected in San
Francisco this week. Victims of
Nazi persecution who fled Europe
a decade ago, the refugees are
headed for new homes in North
and South America.
