A new era in Jewish community relationships was
climaxed this week with the signing of a 10-year agreement
between the United Hebrew Schools and the Northwest
Hebrew Congregatibn and Center whereby the UHS will
conduct a branch in the congregation's school building.
This agreement marks a departure in communal en-
deavor, adding impetus to the rapid growth of the newly
organized Northwest Hebrew Congregation and the savings
3f many thousands of dollars to the United Hebrew Schools
3y the use of the same facilities, and at the same time imme-
diately benefitting the Jewish community in the Northwest

,JERUSALEM. (JTA)—Reports circulated 'here this week
were to the effect that High Commissioner Sir Alan Cirri-
ningham received the British government's permission to in-
crease the monthly Jewish immigration quota to 2,500.
(In New York, Dr. Stephen S. Wise, speaking at the
American Jewish Congress dinner celebrating his 73rd
birthday said he received information the Palestine gov-
ernment had increased the monthly quota to 2,500).
The Jewish Agency, at its plenary session, decided to
postpone the meeting of the Zionist Actions Committee to a
later date, to be fixed by the Agency.
The Palestine High Court rejected the plea to halt the
executions of three condemned Jews—Dov Rosenbaum,
Eliezer Kashani and Mordechai Alkushi. Their lawyer, Max
Seligman, is planning an appeal to the Privy Council.
Moshe Barasani, 21, this week was sentenced to death for
carrying a hand grenade.
The damage done to the Jewish Agency office in Jerus-
alem by a bomb believed thrown by Irgunists seemed to point
to the rise of an internal strife between the organized Jewish
community and thextremists.
A Palestine Arab Higher Committee delegation Monday
called on American Consul General .Robert Macatee to pro-
test the FBI's raiding of the Washington Arab office.
