Lutzky, Becker Star
In Yiddish Cultural
Program at Center
Prominent Jewish poet and
humorist A. Lutzky will appear
Surglay evening, March 16, at
the Jewish Community Center in
a program of impersonations of
famous Jewish personalities un-
der the sponsorship of the Center
and the Jewish Community Coun-
cil.
Lutzky has a national reputa-
tion as an interpreter of his own
Yiddish poetry in which he re-
flects penetrating insights into
outstanding problems and per-
sonalities of our time. A daily
contributor to the Yiddish daily,
The Day, Lutzky has appeared
before audiences all over the
country.
Supplementing the readings by
the poet, Jacob Becker, leading
cellist of the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra, will appear in a select-
ed program of popular Jewish
music.
Jay Rosenshine and Sam Jacob-
son are co-chairmen of the
project. Tickets for the program
may be purchased in advance at
35 cents at the Center, Metro
Music House, 10324 Dexter Blvd.,
and from the Jewish folk organ-
izations. Tickets also will be
available at the door at 60 cents.
Dr. Zalesky to Speak

Kvutzah Ivrith, the Hebrew cul-
tural group of Detroit, Saturday
evening, March 22, at the Rose

Ph.D. from the University of
Chicago. has written extensively
on problems pertaining to Jewish
education in Hebrew and in Eng-
lish. He was editor of the "Par-
ent-Teachers Voice" published in
Chicago. and of the "J&F Junior."
Dr. Zalesky, director of Jewish
Education of Cincinnati, will
speak in Hebrew. Everybody is
welcome. There is no admission
charge.
