violinist, will present solo selec-
tions.
Purim refreshments and com-
munity singing complete the eve-
ning's fetivities. Tickets, for or-
ganizations, are priced at 50 cents;
at the door, 75 cents. .
The public is invited to the
party, according to Charles Drik-
er, president of the City Com-
mittee.

last minute plans for the thir-
teenth anniversary banquet to be
held at 6:30 p. m. Sunday, March
16, at Moss Hall, 5028 Grand
River.
The seventieth birthday of Abe
Greenbaum, its founder and or-
ganizer, also will be celebrated.
Members and friends are in-
vited to take part in the celebra-
tion by calling Julius Newberg,

2 cups shortening
4 egg yolks
cups sugar
6 cups flour
2 t. baking powder
gingerale

1 yeast cake dissolved in 1 t.
warm Water
.1 lemon. rind and juice
Sift dry ingredients, add short-
ening, melted yeast, 4 yolks,
gingerale, juice and rind of
lemon. Knead until dough is
smooth. Place in refrigerator
overnight.
Poppy seed filling, one regular
size can Karo syrup, add one
pound poppy seeds ground fine.
and one egg well beaten.
Roll out dough 914 inch thick-
ness. Cut in 3 inch squares, and
place filling in center. Press
together in tri-cornered shapes,
