Representatives of communities throughout Michigan
will attend the Michigan State Conference of the United
Jewish Appeal for Refugees, Overseas Needs and Palestine,
which will begin at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, March 9, at the
twit-Leland Hotel.

Teams of workers will visit all
Jewish homes in an attempt to
secure 1,000 members on "Z"
Day.
The campaign will be conduct-
ed under the direction of Oscar
Kritzer of the national office.
Morris M. Jacobs, president of
the Zionist Organization, appeals
to all members to become active
workers in this drive and to call

Pinchas Saperstein, who es-
caped the Nazi terror in Poland
and settled as a Halutz in Pales-
tine, has written an interesting
letter to his uncle and aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. J. Saks of 2072 Vir-
ginia Park, outlining the courage
of the Jewish pioneers and
pointing to the horrors perpe-
trated by the British in Pales,.

Pinchas' sisters, brothers and
father perished at the hands of

In his letter, Pinchas writes:
"We here in Palestine often
think that you do not alwayS
understand exactly what this
land is to our people and whzt
we came here for. We know. of
course, that you gave, and give,
money for the upbuilding of this
land as home for our people.
"In your letter you say 'we

sire to go there.' But we must
prepare for them this place now,
this year, the next and the next
10-20 years to come. We must—
