Saturday, March 1, The Inter-Congregational Men's Club dinner, the annual gather- ing of the eight Jewish Men's Clubs of Detroit and Windsor, will be held at Temple Beth El on the eve of Purim, at 7 p. m. Wednesday, March 5, with the Men's Club of TeMple Beth El acting as host. The guest speaker will be Dr. Julius Gordon, for the past 17 years Rabbi of Temple Shaare Emeth in St. Louis. Rabbi Gor- don, a graduate of the Hebrew Union College, and - a noted schol- ar, is the author of "Pity the Persecutor" and other important books. He has been active in the re- ligious, civic and communal life in his. community and serves on the boards of many national in- stitutions. He has traveled ex- tensively in Europe and Pales- tine. In 1945 Rabbi Gordon was awarded the degree of Doctor of Hebrew Letters by the Hebrew Union College. The musical program of the evening will be rendered by Can- tor Robert Tulman of Temple Israel, who will be accompanied by Jason H. Tickton, music di- rector of Temple Beth El.
