NEW YORK. — Denouncing
pro-Austrian pro ➢aganda in the
U.S. purporting to create the im-
pression Jews in Austria are be-
ing fairly treated, Arthur D.
Greenleigh, who has just re-
turned from Austria for the
American Jewish Committee,
said:
• S.S. officers and other Nazis
are still occupying apartments in
Vienna belonging to Jews while
the former owners are obliged to
live in DP camps.
• Nothing tangible has been
done to return Jewish properties
and other assets to. the few Jews
who survived the Nazi terror.
• Anti-Semitism is rampant in
Austria, with a recent bloody
anti-Semitic riot at the Univers-
ity of Vienna taking on the as-
pect of a full-fledged exhibition
in the best Nazi tradition.

Home Relief Society

Brings Cheer to Jewish
Patients in Hospitals

Under the guidance of Mrs.
Harry Shulman, the hospital
committee of the Home Relief
Society is continuing its work
of visiting Eloise, Northville
Sanitorium, Herman Keifer, and
Receiving hospital s, bringing
friendship and encouragement to
the Jewish patients along with
gifts of food, clothes and mag-
azines.
Preceding each of the Jewish
holidays, Mrs. Shulman and her
committee supply each patient
with the traditional food and, if
possible, have religious services
conducted.
Mrs. Shulman is planning a tea
for the daughters of Home Relief
members at which plans will be
formulated or them to assist in
the work of the hospital com-
mittee.

Auxiliary Holds Party
Honoring New Members

Culminating months of effort
in securing new members, the
Women's Auxiliary of the Jewish
Home for Aged will hold its an-
nual membership party in the
annex of the Home, Burlingame
and Petoskey, at 1:30 p.m. Mon-
day, Feb. 17.
Mrs. David Kliger, program
chairman, announces the follow-
ing artists will appear on the pro-
gram: Charlotte Kruger Breg-
man, station WWJ dramatist;
Jackie Geary, accordionist, for-
mer star of Radio Schoolhouse;
and Jerome Stashefsky, violin-
ist, accompanied by Mrs. Herman
Bregman. Refreshments will fol-
low the program.
Mrs. Samuel Weller, member-
ship chairman, will present a gift
to the member bringing the most

Hashomer Hatzair Studies
Haganah's Legal' Fight

The theme for the month's
work in the Detroit branch of
Hashomer Hatzair is the fight of
Haganah, non-terrorist under-
ground army of the Yishuv.
Progrims will be presented and
discussions held on all phases of
Haganah work, including so-
called "illegal" immigration,
establishment of new colonies,
and armed action in support of
these#as contrasted with the ir-
responsible killing by terrorists.
Leaders of the Midwestern
region of Hashomer Hatzair will
assemble at Chicago this week-
end for a conference on expan-
sion and camping activities.
The summer camps of Hasho-
mer bring Jewish culture and the
spirit of pioneer Palestine to
