Children Plant Nearly 2,000
Trees in Drive, Michlin Says

Traditional tree-planting activities in Palestine, in forests
of the Jewish National Fund, were conducted in Detroit
Hebrew and congregational schools during the past three
weeks, on the occasion of Hamisha Asar b'Shevat—Jewish
Arbor Day.
Michael Michlin, chairman of this project, announces
that the children have responded well and that nearly 2.000
trees will be planted as a result of their efforts.

Schools which have participated in the tree-planting activities
included the following:
All branches of the United Hebrew Schools, Cong. Shaarey
Zedek Sunday School, Cong. Beth Aaron, Cong. Beth Itzchock, Cong.
Bnai David Religious School, Cong. Bnai Moshe Sunday School,
Farband Folk Schools, Carmel Hebrew School, Northwest Hebrew
Congregation, Sholem Aleichem Folk Schools, Yeshivath Beth Yehu-
dah and Beth Jacob School for Girls.
Others who participated in this project included: Hashomer
Hatzair, Habonim, Jewish Center clubs, Young Judaea and Young
Women's Bnai Brith Council of Detroit.
Several of the schools and participating groups are continuing
the tree-planting program until the end of February.

JNF Will Sponsor
Palestine Garden
In State Show Here

The Jewish National Fund
Council of Detroit will sponsor
the display of a Palestine Garden
at the annual Michigan Flower
Show and Garden Exhibition of
the Michigan Horticultural So-
ciety, at Convention Hall, March
15-25.
Louis Redstone, prominent De-
troit architect, is supervising the
plans for the Palestine Garden.
Mr. Redstone announces flow-
ers and plants will be rushed
by Clipper to Detroit for this
exhibit. He also announces that
a series of photo murals is being
prepared for the exhibit, in order
to give a complete picture of
Palestine flora and fauna. •
Palestine objects that would fit
into such an exhibit are desired,
