L. Schaver, honorary chairman of the drive who presided at last Thursday's- rally, urged workers to accelerate the tempo of their work. Mr. Schaver praised the work of those solicitors and divisions through whose efforts twice as much money has been brought in this year as against the same period.last year. He pointed out that the greater amount also represented substantially higher individual contributions a n d stated that -achievements thus far should spur workers to intensify their efforts because the $175,000 goal could not be achieved with- out the team work of all workers and organizations. French Admit Jewish Refugees Evading British Blockade PARIS—Authoritative French sources here and in Marseilles are quoted as stating they are cognizant of an increasing traffic of Mediterranean vessels which are running the British blockade with European refugees who are on the way to Palestine. These sources stated as many as 70 sailing craft, yachts, steamers and motorboats, chartered for this purpose, have appeared off the Marseille-Spezia region in the Mediterranean, having put in at Marseille for fueling and supplies. This is considered "regular" procedure by the French who have not interfered with the traffic. The entire issue is considered a British problem here.
