at the El Portal Hotel in Mesa, Ariz.
Howard H. Bloch of Fullerton Ave. left for a month's stay in
Mesa, Ariz.. and Los Angeles.
Arthur Doctor of Calvert Ave. left on a motor trip for an ex-
tended stay in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Louis Ttpman of 3322 Richton Ave. honored her daughter,
Sally. on her 16th birthday. by entertaining 20 of her daughter's girl
friends at luncheon at Huyler's. At the luncheon, Mrs. Louis Please
of 3768 Cortland announced that she had inscribed Sally's name in
the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund.
Mrs. Samuel A. Halberg of Glynn Ct. left for Los Angeles where
she will be guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jules M. Goldsmith, formerly of
Detroit.
Mrs. Paul Corby and daughter, Margot, of Calvert Ave. have
returned from New York where they met Mr. Corby who just re-
turned from a trip through Europe.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stillwater have as their guest Mrs. Still-
water's sister, Mrs. Yetta Weiss, of New York, who is here to greet
her nephew, the former Lt. Arthur Kort, who has returned from
Manila.
Mildred M. Miller and Selma R. Grossman have returned from
New York City where they attended the wedding of Teddy Mark
and Melvin Brooks.
Miss Frieda Kesten has left for ner home in Brooklyn, N. Y..
after a 15-day visit with her fiance, Marris Goodman of 2632 Elm-
hurst.
Chaim Basemitz of Haifa, Palestine, who is visiting his sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Stein of 2020 Tuxedo, has
been extensively entertained by friends and relatives from David
Horodok.
Mrs. Ray M. Lewis anti daughter, Henrietta, are spending 10
days in New York City.
Mrs. Ira Friedenherg of the Wilshire left Jan. 24 for California
where she will spend several weeks in San Francisco and Los
Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Klein of Wisconsin Ave. announce the
graduation of their daughter. Marilyn Shirley, from Wayne Uni-
versity at the Masonic Temple, Jan. 21. Miss Klein received a
Bachelor of Arts degree.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Goldstein left for Los Angeles. where
they will spend two months at the Gaylord Hotel Apartment.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brody of Muirland Ave. left for Miami
Beach. where they will spend the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Butzel of Burns Dr. left for Palm Beach, Fla..
where they will spend the remainder of the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Weisman of Suffolk Dr. have returned from
New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sampliner and their daughter, Janet, have
moved here from Cleveland and are residing at the Belcrest Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. left Thursday
fot Arizona where they will be guests at Ranch Carnila near Tucson.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Newman of Canterbury Rd. and Edwin
M. Rosenthal Jr. of Parkside Ave. left Wednesday for Hollywood,
Fla.. to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Rosenthal.
Mrs. Clarence Enggass of Cumberland Way has left for New
York where she will spend a fortnight. She will attend the wed-
ding of her niece. Helen Bienenstock, and Joseph Bernstein on Feb. 6.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Loewenstein of Fairfield Ave. are spending a
few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.,
Mr. and Mrs. Irving T. Oberfelder of Canterbury Rd. are
visiting in New York.

Dr. and Mrs. Louis E. Kamin entertained six couples Jan. 18

At a candlelight ceremony in
the ballroom of the Fort Wayne
Hotel, Jan. 12, Zelma Albert be-
came the bride of Phillip Horo-
witz, son of Mrs. Catherine
Horowitz and the late Morris
Horowitz.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Albert of Sturtevant
Ave., wore a satin basque gown,
the oval yoke edged in seed
pearls. A tiara with the pearl de-
sign held her cathedral length
veil of French illusion and a bou-
quet of white roses, centered with
white orchids, completed her at-
tire.
Ruth Corn, the bride's sister,
was matron of honor with Libby
Miller, of Iron River, Mich., and
Eveleen Budnitzky as attendants.
Norman Horowitz was best man
for his cousin. The ushers were
Donald Corn and Newton Freed-
man.
Following a dinner and recep-
tion, the couple left on a motor
trip through the south to Miami
Beach.

MUNICH, (JTA) — Arrange-
ments to have an estimated 800,-
000 pounds of matzoth needed by
the displaced Jews in the Amer-
ican zone baked in Germany in
preparation for the cording Pass-
over holidays are proceeding
smoothly with Army cooperation,
the Joint Distribution Committee
announced.
Under present plans the Army
will provide the JDC with flour
which JDC will exchange with
the Germans for wheat. The
wheat will then be converted into
holiday flour by the Jews.
