• Page Thirteen TH.E JEWISH NEWS 3, 1947 Fricley,.Januery , - Congregational Activities NW Congregation Plans Installation, Flag Ceremonies Northwest Hebrew Cong. and Center is planning a ceremony incident to the giving of an American flag to the Synagogue by Post 135 of the Jewish War Veterans of America. The ceremonies will be high- lighted with the address of presentation by David Kay, post commander, and Arthur Lang, chairman in charge of presenta- tion. Rabbi Jacob E. Segal will render the first prayer to hallow the flag and Ira G. Kaufman, president of the congregation, will accept the colors on behalf of the synagogue. The services will be followed by a general meeting of the members and reports as to the progress of the building, adult education, religious school, and other administrative committees. Ground work is also being laid for a corner stone ceremony irt the latter part of February and for the installation of Rabbi Segal at a dinner in the near future. Late Friday evening services Jan. 3 will be conducted at 8:30 at the synagogue by guest cantor for the evening, Rev. Isaac Katz. The services will be followed by refreshments served by Mr. and Mrs. Max-Spoon, whose son will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah, and Mrs. Festenstein, chairman of the sisterhood's Friday evening com- mittee. The adult education class of the synagogue and Men's Club. under the chairmanship of Mau- rice J. Karo, will hold its second meeting at 8:30 p m., Tuesday.
