Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Hershman of Calvert Ave. have as their
guest for a few days Mrs. Hershman's brother, Dr. Samuel Lewin-
Epstein of Jerusalem, Palestine.
Mrs. Al. Mann of Muirland Ave. is returning this Friday from
McKeesport, Pa., where she spent the week visiting with members
of her family.
Mr. and Mrs. William Field of Roslyn Rd. left on Tuesday to
visit in Cincinnati.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smilay, their daughter, Rhoda, and son,
Ma: :Ulm, of Burlington Rd., are spending a fortnight in New York

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Morton and daughter, Judy, of Pennington
Dr.. left for Los Angeles where they will spend a few weeks.
Theodore Baruch and his mother, Mrs. J. B. Baruch, of Blaine
Ave.. left on Monday for New York where they will spend a week
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Baruch and their small son, Joel.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Schembeck of Monte Vista Ave. and Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Gelfund of Northlawn Ave. left on Thursday for St.
Lows where they will attend the Pi Tau Pi Fraternity conclave. Be-
fore returning home Mrs. Schembeck will spend several weeks
visiting with relatives in Kansas City, Joplin, Mo., and Chicago.
Suzanne and Mignon Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. were hostesses
at a cocktail party in their home last Sunday evening in honor of
their house guest, Barbara Miller, of Denver, Colo. Barbara and
Suzanne are sorority sisters of Sigma Delta Tau at University of
Colorado.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rothberg (Lois Wagner) have moved into
their new home at 19329 Hartwell Ave.
Mrs. Moe Rattner of Longfellow Ave. left last week for Los
Angeles, Calif., where she will visit with her brothers, Dr. Stanley
and Dr. Carl Imerman, and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Schiller of Glynn Ct. are spending this
week-end in Atlanta, Ga., where they will attend the wedding on
Sunday of Miss Janice Oettinger and Rabbi Jacob Rothchild.
Gill Stocker, who attends Oxidental College in Los Angeles.
Calif.. is spending her vacation with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Harry
Stocker of Devonshire Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Goldman of Muirland Ave. have as their
guest Mr. Goldman's father, Abraham L. Goldman of New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Reibel of Huntington Woods have as their
guests their childfen, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Klein of Louisville,
Ky., and their son, David, who is home on vacation from his classes
at the University of Chicago.
Jack and Fred Winkelman. who attend St. Johns Military
Academy in Delfield, Wis.. are spending their vacation with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman of Fairfield Ave.
Included among the Detroiters who are in New York this week
attend the conclave of the Phi Delta Epsilon Frae•nity at the
Waldorf Astoria are Dr. and Mrs. Emil Rothman, Joan and William
Rothman. Dr. and Mrs. Edward Levitt, Dr. and Mrs. Maurice P.
Meyers. Dr. and Mrs. Irving Shulak, Dr. and Mrs. Bernie Bernbaum
and their daughter Harriet. Dr. and•Mrs. Louis Slatkin, Dr. and Mrs.
Herman Kanter. Dr. and Mrs. Louis Barack, Dr. and Mrs. Leo Croll.
Dr. Harry Kirschbaum and Dr. and Mrs. James Rogin. Dr. Rothman
will be installed as the Grand Consul this Friday evening.
Stephen Sarasohn. son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Sarasohn of
Atkinson .Ave.. and Murray Seidler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel
Seidler of Lichfield Ave.. arrived on Sunday from New York. where
they are graduate students at Columbia University, to spend the
vacation with their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Manko and son, Kurt, who recently arrived
from Holland. are spending the week in Detroit visiting with mem-
bers of their family. Kurt is the house guest of his uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. Reuhen.Manko of Calvert Ave. His parents are staying
with their nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Doner of Renfrew
Av..
Dr. Albert Krohn of Cambride Ave. left on Sunday for Vara
Dara Beach, Cuba, where he will spend 10 days.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Friedman of Canterbury Rd. returned from
a few weeks' stay in Battle Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lastar and daughter. Beverly, of Sturte-
vant Ave. left Oir'riiesday for New York from where Mr. Lastar will
leave on Jan. 2 by plane for Egypt and Palestine.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Platt of Birchcrest Dr. are spending a few
weeks in California.
Bride-elect Marian Goodman has been honored at many enter-
tainments prior to her wedding on Jan. l2. Mrs. M. J. Greenberg
entertained with a luncheon in her home on Calvert Ave. Mrs. Emil
Phillips of Woodingham Drive gave a luncheon in her home. Miss
Maryan Fleischer entertained with a dinner followed by attendance
•at Pro Musica concert. A luncheon and personal shower was given
by Mrs. Bernard Davidson. A luncheon and handkerchief shower was
given at Huyler's by Mrs. Sam Simon. Miss Jewel Klein entertained
with a luncheon and miscellaneous shower at the Book-Cadillac
hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Gottlieb of Lawrence Ave. honored
the bride-elect and her fiance. Sidney L. Goldstein, of New Haven,
Conn., at a dinner. Mrs. Jacob Schakne was hostess at a luncheon at
the Statler. Mrs. Nathan Mandeberg and Mrs. Harry Feinberg were

Theodore Curtis were hostesses at a luncheon and kitchen shower at

Prior to that time she resided for
10 year's in Tel Aviv, Palestine.

is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L.
Pergamenter of Tel Aviv. He
served in the British army dur-
ing the war and is at present as-
sociated with the Goodyear Rub-
ber Co. in South Africa.
