Two of the United Hebrew Schools will graduate classes next month.
Parkside graduates are: Sidney- Baskin, chairman of pin committee; Sey-
mour Bros, Donna Mae Cohen, president; Nathan Divdson, treasurer; _,
Dorothy Feinberg, secretary; Gerald Feinberg, Jerry Katz, chairman of
picture committee; Lawrence Newman. Their teacher is Michael Michlin.

David W. Simons School graduates are: Diane Bassin, Jerry Dobrusi
Morris Dworkin, Gerald Grossman, vice president; Isaac Levi, Leonard
Lubarsky, Harold I. Mathis, Leah Nelson, chairman of pin committee .',

An important phase of the education of Jewish
and girls is the teaching of communal responsibilit
"the art of giving." MIS boys and girls bring wee
contributions to their Keren Ami, and the fund is la
given to Jewish causes.

More than 1.200 children, between the ages of six and
• 16, attend classes at the United Hebrew Schools, daily, ex-
cept Saturday. Sessions are one hour-and-a-half in duration.

Hebrew grammar and literature, Jewish history, form
and customs, the Bible, Mishnah and Gemara are among
the subjects taught by the faculty of 40 highly-trained teach-
ers. Instruction is organized into the following departments:
pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, extending over a
period of seven years; and high school, a four year course.

The seven branches of the United Hebrew Schools are:

PARKSIDE—Alexander Roberg, principal.

PHILADELPHIA-BYRON—Morris Lachover, principal.

ROSE SITTIG COHEN—Solomon Kasdan, principal.

BRADY—Morris . Plafkin, principal.

To enable children to reach schools without hardship
United Hebrew Schools maintains its own bus service. The
service is supported largely by the Woman's Auxiliary.

CENTRAL HIGH—Norman Ruttenberg, principal.

BAGLEY—Michael Michlin, principal.

Chief financial support of the schools comes from the,
Allied Jewish Campaign.

Tuition fees are charged in accordance with the parents'
ability to pay, and many scholarships are granted.

Officers of the United Hebrew Schools are: Abe Kasle,
