have returned from Atlantic City.
Miss Stella R. Heineman of Milwaukee, who came to attend the
Gilbert-Myers wedding Thursday evening, is spending a few days
with Sadie Hirschman of Glynn Ct.
Mr. and Mrs. Felix Mahler of Whitmore Rd. are leaving this
Friday by plane for Miami -Beach, Fla., where they plan to spend a
few weeks.
Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield of the Belcrest Hotel has as her guest
Mrs. Cora Michaels of San Francisco.
Ruth Frank of Colorado Ave. left Sunday for Beverly Hills, Calif.
Mrs. Sally Brown of Lucerne Dr. is spending a few days in CM-
xinnati as the guest of Mrs. Joseph Ullman.
Cpl. John Kaichen, in service for the last 15 months, has received
his discharge and is at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Kaichen of Huntington Woods.
Mrs. Albert Weisman of Edison Av e. has returned from Con-
nelsville, Pa., where she visited her , son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Weisman.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cohen of Calvert Ave. left Thursday by motor
for Wilmington, Del., and East Orange, N. J., where they will spend
a few weeks with members of their family. From there they plan to.
drive to the west coast of Florida to spend the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hartman and their. daughter, Carolyn, of
Edison Ave. spent the last week in Chicago visiting with Mrs. Hart-
man's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. David Fireman.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gunsberg of Elmhurst Ave. left Tuesday by
motor to spend a few weeks in Florida.
Mrs. Lawrence Shell of Cortland Ave. left Saturday for Hawaii
to join her husband, PhM 1/c Shell, who is stationed there with the
Navy.
Mrs. Harry Mazur spent a few days as the guest of Mr. and Mrs.
Ellis Fisher of Lakewood Ave. enroute to her home in Hollywood,
Calif.. from New York and Boston.
Mrs. Jules Klein of Calvert Ave. is spending a few weeks visiting
with her son-in="law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Escher of
New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Abramsohn of Wisconsin Ave. left Thursday to
visit relatives in Wilmington, Del.. and Philadelphia.
Mr. and Mrs. Casper C. Cutler have moved from Collingwood
Ave. and are now residing in their new home at 18220 Warrington Dr.
Mr. and. Mrs. Max J. Zivian of Muirland Ave. left last week by
plane to spend 10 days as the guest of Burton Lyon at his home in the
Bimini Islands, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Solomon of Fairfield Ave. spent the last
week in Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Holinstat of Roselawn Ave. are spending
a fortnight in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Frankel have returned to Toronto following a
few days visit with Mr. Frankel's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Ivan Frankel of Muirland Ave.
Included among the out-of-town guests attending the Bar Mitz-
vah of Robert Wine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wine of Genesee
Ave., last week were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rabin, Mrs. Mabel Jaffe,
and Mr. and Mrs. Sander Scherer of New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Goldman, their daughter. Bunny, and son,
Jason, of Cortland Ave. are spending a few weeks in Miami Beach,

Fla.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Papo of Tuxedo Ave. entertained a group
of girls at the Book Casino Nov. 30 in honor of their daughter Rita's
18th birthday. -
Capt. Allen Berlin, in service two years and recently returned
from 10 months in Japan, is on terminal leave and at home with his
brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Robert A. Coggan of Roslyn
Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Weisman and family have moved from
Calvert Ave. to 2697 Collingwood.
Mrs. Morris Friedman of Patterson, N. J., is the guest of her
father, Louis Diamond of Calvert Ave.
P/0 3/c Edward Siden is spending his three-week leave with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Siden of West Goldengate Ave.
Mrs. Joseph Alexander of Fairfield4Ave. left for Beverly Hills,
Calif., where she plans to spend the winter.
Sgt. Joseph R. Schoenfield, recently returned from 10 months in
Munich. is at home with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Adolph Schoen-
field of Longfellow Ave.
Louis Elliman of the Briggs Hotel sailed on Thanksgiving day on
the Queen Elizabeth for Ireland where he plans to spend a month
visiting with his family. Mrs. Elliman, who accompanied him to New
York, is spending the month in Hartford, Conn., as the guest of Mrs.
J. Wasserman (formerly Mrs. Fannie Gilman of Detroit). Mr. and
Mrs. Elliman are planning to spend the New Year week-end at the
Waldorf-Astoria before returning home.

iary of the United Hebrew
Schools, announces that the mem-
bership drive ; under the chair-
manship of Mrs. Louis Tatken,
will culminate at 12:30 p. m. next
Wednesday, with a paid-up mem-
bership luncheon in the Rose Sit-
tig Cohen Bldg.
The feature of the afternoon
will be a quiz program patterned
after a famous radio show. Mrs.
Morris Adler, as quizmistress,
will put the questions to the au-
dience. Many prizes have been
assembled by Mrs. Louis Gelfand,
chairman of gifts, as rewards for
proper answers.
The luncheon is under the
chairmanship of Mrs. Morris
Fishman and Mrs. J. Zeldes.
Mrs. Tatken urges all would-
be members to telephone her at

for the luncheon.

Council to Discuss
FEPC, Introduce
Its New Director

The quarterly session of dele-
gates to the Jewish Community
Council will be ,held in the audi-
torium of the Jewish Center at
8:15 p. m: Tuesday.
Highlighted on the Agenda is
a discussion of the FEPC cam-
paign in which the Council has
taken an active part.
Aaron Droock, president, an-
nounces that a report on com-
munity activities on behalf of dis-
placed persons will be presented.
The meeting will offer the first
opportunity for presentation of
Oscar Cohen, newly appointed
executive director, to the dele-
gate body.

Revisionist Organization
Celebrates Anniversary

New Zionist Organization of
Detroit will hold an anniversary
meeting at 8:30 p. in. Thursday,
Dec: 26, at Finkel's Restaurant.
Mrs. Eliezer Shosbak of Palestine
will be guest of honor.
Election of officers will be held.
Sol B. Edelman, delegate to the
recent Zionist convention, will
speak on "The Current Trends in
Palestine." Aaron M. Weisbrot
will review the organization's
activities. M. Manuel Merzon will
preside.
Refreshments will be served.

visionist aspect of Zionism are in-
