Dr. Mattie Rotenberg, lecturer
on physics at the University of
Toronto, will speak on "Jewish
Women in the Modern World,"
under the auspices of the Men's
Club of Cong. Bnai Moshe, at 8
p. m. next Thursday at Dexter
and Lawrence.
Mrs. Rotenberg is commentator
on women's affairs for the Canad-
ian Broadcasting Corp., and won
the press award for outstanding
women radio commentators. She
is also the founder of the Hill-
crest Progressive School, a noted
experiment in Hebrew education.
Dr. Rotenberg is a sister of Rabbi
Eliezer A. Levi, of Cong. Bnai
Moshe.
The meeting is open to the
public.
Dramatize Story of N. Y.
Widows' Pension Law
The Mark of Cain, an original
radio story by Morton Wishen-
grad, will be presented on the
Eternal Light at 8 a.m. Sunday,
Des. 15, on Station WWJ.
The drama pictures the early
stages of Sophie Irene Loeb's long
battle for the Widow's Pension
Law in the New York State Leg-
islature and her efforts to show
that every man is his brother's
keeper.
At the conclusion of the pro-
gram there will be a brief ad-
dress by Doctor Jacob Kohn of
Temple Sinai, Los Angeles.

19, died in the Jewish Hospital,
eincinnati,: on Dec. 6, after suffer-
ing a heart attack.
A practicing attorney, Mr. Ros-
enberg was a member of the
Hebrew Union College board of
governors and of the American
Jewish Conference interim com-
mittee.
Northwest Men's Club
Sponsors Dinner Dance
The second annual Hanukah
Dinner Dance, under the auspices
of the Men's Club of the North-
west Hebrew Cong. and Center,
will take place at 6:30 p. m. Sun-
day Dec. 22, at the new social
hall of the congregation, Curtis
and Santa Rosa.
In addition to the dinner, there
will dancing to the music of
Dave Diamond's orchestra. Head-
lining the entertainment will be
Maurice Dombey, noted Jewish
dialogue comedian.

raised and sent to Palestinian
Yeshivoth and to European ref-
ugee rescue organizations in the
last seven months, by the follow-

Rabbi Eliezer A. Levi will de-
liver a Hanukah address, "Our
Modern Maccabees," at late Fri-
day services, Dec. 20, at Bnai
Moshe.
Cantor David Katzman will
conduct the services, with com-
munal singing at the conclusion
appropriate to - the Hanukah sea-
