A new Palestine policy, apparently to be based on the
partitioning of the country, from all indications is due before
the end of the year, and the British are increasing the mili-
tary force in the land from 87,000 to 125,000 to prepare for
possible trouble.

Students Object When
Lecturer Uses Term
'Gangsters' for 'Jews'

BUFFALO, (JTA)—The 1,400
students of the Lafayette High
School here were assembled by
their principal "to straighten out
matters." following a demonstra-
tion when a lecturer used the
word "gangsters" in describing
the Jews in Palestine.
The lecturer, George E. Carak-
er of Missoula, Mont., is listed by
the School Assembly Service of
Rochester as "a journalist, news
analyst and foreign correspond-
ent." Robert T. Bapst, superin-
tendent of schools, termed the in-
cident "regrettable" and ordered
all principals to secure more in-
formation about speakers in the
future.
