Because I was born a Jew,
Am I not human like you?
Am I not subject to pain?
Then why is my pleading in vain?
When driven from land to land
And persecuted without an end.
Haven't I tried my best
To lead a life like the rest?
BUDAPEST, (JTA)-The Al-
lied Control Commission has
granted a license to the Zionist
organization here to publish a
weekly newspaper which will be
edited by Dr. Bela Denes, leader
of the Poole Zionists. The paper
will begin publication as soon as
its permit is cleared by the Hun-
garian authorities.
IN MEMORIAM

Colburn, who passed away two
years ago, Nov. 17.

Esther, and sons, Merton, Allan,
Sherwood and Leslie.
WANTED
TO RENT
Why are doors closed to me
Even in lands that are free?
Is it on account of my race
That they close their doors in my face?
How do I differ from others
When I worship the God of my fathers?
And observe the laws that He
Has given to Moses for me?
Is it a reason to be despised
For observing laws that are recognized
By peoples in every nation
As the essence of civilization?
Because my name is Kahn
How do I differ from John?
John was a buddy of mine
When we stood on the firing line.
And both with our lives at stake
Fought for our country's sake.
Coming home from the war
We both had an even score.
He was wounded. so was I.
I lost an arm, he lost an eye.
In the war we stuck together.
Home and peace is a different matter.

2 School Age Boys

For a job we both applied.
He got what I was denied.
Why have they turned me down
And so readily accepted John?
The answzr• no doubt, is true,
Is because I was born a Jew.
