HARRY SHAPER, 53, of 2632
Monterey died Nov. 6. Funeral
services were held Nov. 7 at the
Chesed shel Emes, with Rabbi
L. Levine officiating. He is sur-
vived by his wife, Goldie, two
sons, Jack and David; two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Sol Gus and Mrs. Hy
Lefler; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie
Ravet and Mrs. Sarah Deutsch of
Los Angeles; and seven grand-
children. Burial was in Radomer
Cemetery.

MRS. SARAH CHANA MAR-
KOWITZ died Nov. 4 at the age
of 90. She had been making her
home with her daughter,, Mrs.
Eva Granat, formerly of Chica-
go, at 2611 Gladstone Ave. Ser-
vices wore held at the Ira Kauf-
man Funeral ChapeL Rabbi
Isaac Stoilman and Cantor Ja-
cob Sonenklar officiated. Sur-
viving are three sons, Abraham,
of Los Angeles; Samuel, and Jo-
seph; and one daughter, Mrs.
Granat. Interment was in Clover
Hill Park Cemetery.

Kirschenbaum, member of the ed-
itorial staff of the Jewish Morn-
ing Joyrnal since 1915, died here
at the age of 61.
