Obituaries

MRS. SARAH BERKOWITZ
died Sunday at the age of 75. She
had been makingher home with
her daughter, Mrs. Harry Schum-
er, 18220 Pennington. Funeral
. services were held Sunday after-
noon at Chesed shel Emes. Burial
was in Chesed shel Emes Ceme-
tery. She resided in Detroit for
the past seven years, since the
death of her` husband. Prior to
that time they lived in Rochester,
N. Y., for 37 years, coming there
upon their arrival from Poland.
Surviving her are two sons,
Isidore and Hyman; five daugh-
ters, Mesdames Leah Cohen,
Celia Goldman, Leah Underberg,
Mildred Schumer and Mary
Schumer; 16 grandchildren and
16 great-grandchildren.

of the - Belcrest Apts., died Oct
30. She was the wife of Roy R.,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel
Goldberg, sister of Adolph, Ir-
ving, Mrs. Bernice Kramer, and
Mrs. Reva Schiller. Funeral ser-
vices were held at Lewis Bros.
Chapel, were conducted by Rabbi
Morris Adler and Cantor Jacob
Sonenklar. Interment was in
Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

Atkinson, died Oct. 24. Services
were at Lewis Bros. Chapel and
interment in Beth Moses Ceme-
tery. Rabbi Joshua Sperka and
Cantor Jacob Sonenklar offici-
ated. He was the brother of Ja-
cob and Isidore, and uncle of Mr.
Saul Zuieback, Mrs. Max Criene,
Mrs. Henry Kepes, Mrs. Eleanor
Brownstein, James, Martin, Her-
man, and Joseph.
