4 Leaders of DPs Flying to U.S. for UJA Conference NEW YORK.—Four leaders of the Jewish Central Committee of Liberated Jews of Germany; spokesmen for the 180,000 Jewish survivors in displaced persons camps in the American zones of Germany and Austria, will fly from Europe to address the Na- tional Conference of the United Jewish Appeal in Atlantic City. The delegation will include Leon Retter, general secretary of the Jewish Central Committee of Germany; Dr. Samuel Gringaus. president of the Committee's ad- visory council; Dr. Boris Pliskin, chief of the committee's health department: and Samuel Shlomo- vitch, chairMan of the Frankfurt regional committee. Leaders of Jewish communities elsewhere in Europe and Pales- tine will shortly proceed to'the U. S. to help American Jewish leaders blueprint for 1947 a large- scale - program for relief and re- habilitation assistance to desti- tute Jews overseas, for mass set- tlement and upbuilding of the Jewish homeland- in Palestine. and for expanded aid to displaced Jews reaching American 'shores. The national conference will hear a detailed review of the 1946 programs of the Joint Distribu- tion Cammittee. United Palestine Appeal and the United Service for New Americans. the three agencies in the United Jewish Appeal. and will draw up plans for 1947 in the light of existing needs throughout the world.
