After 6-Month Tour of Europe

Evelyn Miskin, of New York, is the house guest of Mr. and
Mrs. Hy Lewis of 2221 Gladstone. She expects to make Detroit
hel- home after returning to New York in two weeks.
Mesdames Charles Bassey, Samuel Blacher, Samuel Danto,
Joseph Falk, Benjamin Jackson. Samuel Keene, Adolph Kosichek,
Daniel Krouse. Harry LeVine, A. J. Schmerin, Harry Singer, Mor-
ton Snyder and Myron Steinberg attended the convention of the
State Federation of Temple Sisterhoods in Lansing, Oct. 8, as dele-
gates representing Temple Israel of Detroit.
Miss Helen Fishman. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fishman
of Clair- mount Ave., and her fiance, Manny Iselman, were honored
at a bufTet supper given for the family by Mr. and Mrs. Nathan
Fishman of 3411 Sherbourne.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Ja•kel and sons, Louis Allen and Martin,
of Los Angeles. are visiting friends and relatives here and are the
house guests of Mrs. Jackel's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Hy Lezell of Kentucky Ave.
Billie Wilkelman Kurlander and Rosalind Kurlander have
moved to their new home at 127 S. Willaman Drive, Beverly Hills,

Mrs. Morris Schaver returned on Monday, by Clipper,
to New York, after a six months' tour of displaced persons
camps in Europe.
Mr. Schaver, who joined his wife in Europe five weeks
ago, returned with her. They arrived in Detroit on Thursday.
Mrs. Schaver, who originally left for Europe with the
World Jewish Congress delegation consisting of Dr. Israel
. Efros and H. Leivick, remained in Europe and appeared in
concerts under the auspices of the Jewish Agency for Pal-
estine.
She appeared before survivors from Nazism in 50 camps
and sang before more than 100,000 persons.
Her High Holyday broadcast was so popular that it was
repeated four times.
