man. The statement points out
that the resolution was passed in
June but was made public only
now to "smooth the political path
of Henry Epstein in the forth-
coming• election campaign" and
charges the American Jewish
Committee, the dominating mem-
ber of the NCRAC, with pursu-
ing a policy of appeasement with
fascist and clerical-fascist groups
in this country.
"The Anti-Fascist Jewish Com-
mittee rejects fully the unwar-
ranted attack by the American
Jewish Committee - dominated
NCRAC on The Protestant, an
inter-faith organization dedicated
to a relentless fight against fas-
cism and especially effective in
the fight against the enemies of
Jews everywhere," the statement
reads in part. It was signed by
Joseph Brainin, chairman of the

ities in nine states and Canada
including Detroit, had commun-
ity surveys completed for them
in 1946 while nine other com-
munities in six states, Canada and
the District of Columbia are now
having such studies made by the
Study Department of the National
Jewish Welfare Board. The JWB
also served as consultant in nine
communities where more limited
surveys were made in 1946.
Of the completed 1946 studies,
two were in cooperation with the
Council of Jewish Federations
and Welfare funds. Four of those
under way are being made in co-
operation with either the Council
or American Association for Jew-
ish Education. The completed
