Sept. 29 marked the end of a
period of seven years of wander-

group of students of the former

when they arrived in Detroit,
from Shanghai.
The rabbis and students are:

Yeshivath Chachmey Lublin,
when 34 was.in• Lublin, Poland,
had about 500 students. Only a
small number escaped. The re-
maining students are presumed to
have been killed by the Nazis.
These 42 students together with

of Detroit, after the liberation,
got in touch with the students in
Shanghai and worked tirelessly
to secure students visas so that
they could come to the United
States. All the students of the
former Yeshivath Chachmey Lub-

So far only eight have arrived.
The remaining students will leave
Shanghai Oct. 12.
At the Michigan Central in De-

was received by a delegation con-

often put them in prisons where
many died from starvation and

It was reliably reported in the

the Japanese to exterminate the
Jews in .Shanghai.
After the liberation of Shang-

Japanese saved them in Shang-
