Miss - Renee Joseph of 1622 Lee Place left for a month's vacation
in San Diego-,- Calif., Where she will be the guest of her sister,
•Mrs. S. Elkin, .whose husband is now serving as warrant officer of
the USN.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Becker and family of Warrington Drive
are moving this week to their new home at 1920 Strathcona Drive,
Palmer Woods. Their daughter, Barbara Joyce, entered the School
of Architecture and Design of the University of Michigan and is
residing at Stockwell Hall.
Miss Bee Bialick, Oct. 6 bride-elect, was honored at a shower
by Mrs. Louis Siegel and Mrs. Ben Siegel, at Clayton's, on Sept.
17. Mrs. Max Kahn honored her at a luncheon at the Book Cad-
illac on Sept. 21. Mrs. Harold Jackson entertained at her home

on Collingwood on Sept. 24.
Mrs. Harry Girsh, who was a guest at the Book Cadillac Hotel
for a few days while visiting with friends, has returned to her
home in New York.
Herbert Aplern, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Alpern of Mt.
Clemens, has left for St. Louis, Mo., where he will attend Wash-
ington University.
Mrs. David After and son, Marc, 'of Los Angeles, Calif., are
expected on Sunday. They will be the house guests of Mrs.
Apter's brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Weiss
of W. Gransi Blvd.
Seymour Grossfeld, who recently returned from service in the
Pacific area, has left for Lansing to resume his studies at Mich-
igan State College. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Grossfeld
of Farrand Pk.
Virginia Barnett, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Barnett, left
for Olivet, Mich., to resume her studies at Olivet College.
Complimenting Miss Violet Goodman whose marriage to Leon-
ard Soltar will take place on Oct. 13, many beautiful parties have
been given. On Sept. 6, Mrs. Jacob Grant was hostess at a luncheon
at Huylers, and the following day Mrs. Julius Goodman's luncheon
was held at the Statler Terrace Room. A week later, Miss Shirley
Weinberg gave a luncheon and personal shower at Huylers. On
Sept. 16, .Mrs. Philip Gilbert chose the Book Cadillac for her lunch-
eon and miscellaneous shower. Five days later, Mrs. Philip Ash,
Mrs. Harold Ash, and Mrs. Leo Ash gave a luncheon at the Statler
Terrace Room. Mrs. Julius Green's luncheon on Sept. 28 was at
the Women's City Club and Mrs. Joseph Gilbert's luncheon at the
Statler Terrace room this Friday will round off this lovely series.
Miss,Helga Stern has returned to her home in New York after
a visit with Mrs. Ben Baum of Windsor.
