Here Is the Picture Story of Your
Jewish Community Center

N THESE FOUR PAGES are depicted the program and activities of your Jewish
Community Center, the official Jewish group work agency of . the Council of
Social Agencies, the Jewish Welfare Federation, and a Red Feather Service of
the Community Chest. Almost 5,000 members enjoy the rich and varied program of
the Center as well as the hundreds of thousands of Detroiters who annually visit
the main building on Woodward Ave.

On its present site since 1939, when the new magnificent building, the Aaron
DeRoy Memorial, was dedicated, the Center is pre-dated by the famous
Hannah Schloss Memorial.. The Center has a history of almost half -a
century of friendly, helpful and distinguished service to the Jewish

Community of Detroit and the city at large. To implement the idea of
offering pleasant activity to any Jewish person or family of the com-

munity, the Center originates, offers, conducts and stimulates a great \ .
variety of activities including clubs, hobby groups, Scout units, parties,
dances, entertainments, Holiday and festival celebrations, discussion gro ps. lec-
tures, concerts, exhibits, dance recitals and numerous other kinds of programs.
