degree) oven for 15 minutes. low-

Blend a half-teaspoon cinnamon
with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1
tablespoon flour. Sprinkle over
top of pie, increase heat again to
400 degrees and bake for five or

I ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Max Krell of the Lee Plaza Apt. have returned
from a few days stay in Mackinac Island.
Richard Bloch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bloch of Muirland
Ave., has left for Chicago where he will matriculate at the Uni-
versity of Chicago.
Stephen Sarasohn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Sarasohn of
Atkinson Ave., has as his guest for a few days Clifford Harding Jr. of
Hanburg, Iowa. Both boys will leave some time this week-end to
resume their studies at the graduate school of Columbia University.
Completing the round of beautiful parties which were given in
honor of Bernice Rosenberg, whose marriage to Alfred Deutsch was
an event of last Tuesday, were a number of luncheons and dinners.
On Sept. 3, Mrs. Morris Reinitz, Mrs. Anthony Deutsch and Mrs.
Samuel Rosenberg were joint hostesses at a shower and luncheon
at the Book Cadillac Hotel, and four days later Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Dodge were hosts at a cocktail party and dinner in their summer
home at Fenton Lake. Mich. Mrs. William Roth's luncheon at the
Statler Terrace Room was held Tuesday, Sept. 10. and the next night,
Mrs. Jack Burns gave the spinster dinner in her home on Ohio
Ave. Mrs. George Reinitz gave a dinner at her home on Ohio Ave
last Friday evening.

A capacity attendance is ex-
pected at this rFiday's luncheon
meeting of Detroit chapter of
Hadassah marking the opening
of the annual Honor Roll cam-
paign, at the Book Cadillac Hotel.
Dr. Ralph S. Harlow, chairman
of the department of religion of
Smith College, will be the princi-
pal speaker.
Mrs. Louis Glasier, president of
Hadassah, will preside at the
luncheon.
Chairman of Honor Roll is Mrs.
Robert J. Newman. Mrs. Sidney
J. Allen is chairman of special
gifts. Records chairman is Mrs.
Julian Zemon and chairmen of
publicity are Mrs. Joseph H.
Jackier and Mrs. Robert Drews.
The campaign is well under way
and early indications are that
the women are cognizant of the
unusual need this year. Workers
are enthusiastic and most pledges
are being greatly increased.
Mrs. Sam Shekter, Russell
Woods Honor Roll chairman. re-
ported a splendid attendance at a
recent meeting for captains and
workers at her home and many
gratifying pledges were received.
