Windsor Organizations Announce Fall Openings Windsor's Jewish community is getting its fall programs under way. Member organizations of the Community Council are planning their opening meetings. The Youth Council has resumed its fall program with Hy Muroff serving as director. Lillian Frieman Hadassah chap- ter will meet Sept. 18 with Mrs, Anna Raginsky, president of Canadian Hadassah, as the speak- er. Mrs. Raginsky was one of the founders of the Windsor chapter. Windsor Bnai Brith Lodge will meet Sept. 18. Branch 362, Canadian Legion (Windsor's Jewish Post) , resumes its program with a meeting on Sept. 19. The Post has just re- ceived its official charter, and is with liberal contributions in the $60,000 over-all Zionist defense drive, now in progress, Abe Kasle, chairman in charge of solicita- tions in behalf of the Zionist Or- ganization of Detroit, urged' that the response should be prompt and spontaneous in order not to overtax the energies of workers who have volunteered their serv- ices. The $60,000 goal includes the expansion fund of the Zionist Or- ganization of America, the Aufbau Fund of the Labor Zionist . Move-. ment and the Zionist Council of Detroit. Harry Schumer is in charge of the drive as representative of the Zionist Council. Mr. Kasle stated this week that the major portion of the fund sought locally will be used to en- lighten the American public on the current situation in Palestine. "It is essential that the work begun to educate the people to an understanding of Jewish needs should be continued," Mr. Kasle stated. President Truman Endorses "Jewish Education Month" NEW YORK, (JTA)—Designed to stimulate Jewish parents to give their children a religious ed- ucation, "Jewish Education Month" began with a message of endorsement by President Tru- man, addressed to the American Association for Jewish Education. The President's message reads as follows: "I am very glad to learn that under the leadership of the Amer- ican Association for Jewish Edu- cation, the Jewish community in the U.
