and David of St. Louis; two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Charles Schiller of De-
troit and Mrs. E. L. Buchanan of
St. Louis; a brother, Morris Sigo-
loff of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs.
Sarah Lisner of Detroit; and
eight grandchildren. Interment
was in Machpelah Cemetery.

Mr. Hyman had been associated
for the last 12 years with Schwartz
Bros. at the Detroit Produce Term-

Finman of Lansing; Mrs. Jacob

A campaign for a State Fair

the collection of approximately
200,000 signatures of Michigan cit-
izens was announced by Jack
Raskin, executive secretary of the
Michigan Civil Rights Congress,
under whose sponsorship the cam-
paign will be conducted.
The petition campaign will be
organized through a special com-
mittee to be known as A Commit-
tee for .State FERC.. An initiating
committee, representative of prom-
inent individuals is being formed.
Plans for the campaign include
wide distribution of educational
material, the formation of spons-
oring groups among labor, church,
Negro, Jewish and other sections
of the population, and setting up
of precinct and ward machinery
for the collection of signatures,
immediately after the November
elections.

Rabbi Silber Dies
Rabbi Saul Silber, dean of the
Hebrew Theological College of
Chicago and one of the most prom
inent orthodox rabbis in America,
died Sunday afternoon at his home
in Chicago. •
Born in Dvinsk, he came to the
U. S. as a very young man.
He was the brother of Mrs. S.
Shnitz, former Detroiter.
Rabbi Silber spoke in Detroit on
many occasions in the interests of
the United Hebrew Schools, Miz-
rachi and other movements.
